Everything begins with an idea and vision. We are grateful to those who sacrificed their time and finances to see their dream come to reality.
King’s Christian College began in 1980 as a Primary School with only 23 students. Originally, the school was called Gold Coast Christian Primary School.
In 1990, with plans to begin a High School the next year, the school name was changed to King’s Christian College. The High School began with 22 students in 1991, with our first Year 12 class of 33 students graduating in 1995.
The school grew rapidly during the 1990s. Today, we offer Childcare and Preschool as well as Prep to Year 12 on the one campus. Our growth from those small beginnings to over 1550 students today attests to the fact that many people share the founders' desire for a vibrant, Christian school on the Gold Coast.
The site chosen for the College by its founders was surrounded by natural bush land, accessible from all areas of the Gold Coast. Over the years, an expanding population has resulted in our campus being very close to the geographical centre of the Gold Coast City. Even so, some of the surrounding bushland remains and the College still retains a semi-rural setting.
In that time, major building programs to accommodate the rapid growth in student numbers have ensured that the College has facilities relevant to the needs of a wide selection of subjects and co-curricular activities.
