STEM and Technology

Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.

Primary Innovation Hub

Fondly known as the 'iHub', King's Primary Innovation Hub is used by all grades from P-6 for Design Technology classes.

The iHub is buzzing during lunch break with students who love to come in and experience a wide range of activities such as:

  • building and programming robots
  • pulling apart older pieces of technology to explore and visualise how they are built
  • finger knitting
  • sawing, drilling, sanding and wood turning
  • lego construction and engineering
  • coding

iHub nurtures students in the area of Design Thinking. Having such a wonderful facility allows them to explore their own creativity and test out their ideas.

Industrial Design and Technology

King’s Industrial Design and Technology encompasses the latest cutting edge in all areas of innovative technology. Students are encouraged to follow their passions in design thinking, product design, digital manufacture and concept prototyping with an array of state of the art equipment. King’s FabLab runs 3D printers, laser cutters, vacuum formers, 3D scanners and a suite of fully commercial design and engineering software.

King’s FabLab creates a vision to the future careers in engineering, sciences, mechatronics, coding, robotics and product design.
