We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our current Payroll Team. You will bring your expertise in the Payroll sphere to provide an efficient, full function end-to-end fortnightly payroll for 980+ employees. The successful applicant will play a crucial role in responding to key Payroll activities across our three campuses. You’re detail orientated focus, analytical skills and high level of organisation and accuracy will ensure success in the position.

Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Processing of the fortnightly payroll;
  • Responsible for processing the fortnightly end to end payroll, using online electronic platform;
  • Comprehensive understanding of the College's Enterprise Bargaining Agreement;
  • Processing both internal and external administration matters, queries and ad hoc reports;
  • Identify and report on continuous improvement initiatives across all payroll services;
  • Assist with employee payroll related enquiries and queries;
  • Ad Hoc Administration duties as required;
  • Assist the Finance Team and HR as required;

Technical Knowledge and Experience

  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of data entered into the system;
  • Have demonstrated organisational and time management skills;
  • Problem solving skills;
  • To deal with issues confidentially and sensitively when applying established procedures and be committed to continual professional and personal development;
  • To relate to people from various backgrounds and to work in a small team environment;
  • Developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, both written and verbally, listen and assess the needs of staff and liaise with a wide range of people, both internal and external.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the maintenance of a supportive work environment.


  • Proven knowledge of working end to end payroll processing (preferable in Education Industry)
  • Sound understanding of payroll systems and processes
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in using the Microsoft Office products – Windows, Excel and Word.

This position is a Permanent Full Time position, 5 days a week, 8am to 4pm and will be based at the College's Pimpama campus.

Our PIMPAMA CAMPUS (on the northern end of the Gold Coast) currently has over 1200 students on-site, from Early Learning to Year 11 in 2023 with Year 12 being offered for the first time at this Campus in 2024.

King’s LOGAN VILLAGE CAMPUS (in south-west Logan) offers places for students from Early Learning through to Year 6 in 2023 and High School opening in 2024.
