Class of 2008 - 10 Year Reunion
Saturday, 28 July 2018 | Wildernis Café & Bar, Currumbin
As the fireworks fired their last spark into the sky at Carnival Day, the Class of 2008 was joining together for their 10 Year Reunion. Hosted at the fresh and creative Wildernis Café & Bar, the Class of 2008 spent the night reconnecting and reminiscing with each other, and with their old teachers.
Kara Spink (née Firth), Danielle Edwards (née Miokovich) and Nancy Vieyra (née Shambrook) introduced their newborns to the grade, followed by multiple ‘Awws’ and cheek squeezes. Luke Donovan, only one-week from returning from his honeymoon, introduced his new wife, Michelle, to his peers. Others shared their career successes, introduced their partners and shared exciting life events. Peers came from far and wide to reunite; Reilly Morris (née Redenbach) and Jenna Harris (Née Genge) even flew from New Zealand to be at the event.
Throughout the evening, Alumni wrote their favourite memories and tucked them away into a Jar of Wisdom, had the chance to find their name on a giant Class of 2008 word search and flicked through old photographs of their journey at King’s. Alumni member, Joshua Chan (Class of 2015) blessed us with smooth acoustic tunes throughout the evening.
The highlight of the evening was a heartfelt speech from class member, Jenna Harris. Having been a King’s student from Grade 1 through to Grade 12, Jenna shared hilarious and pivotal moments with her peers and teachers. To conclude the evening, we were delighted with an impromptu sing-along of the classic School Song, led by student, Rachel Puru (nee Schembri).
