Watercolour art class with Monique Karolyn

Monique Karolyn is an artist and art teacher based in the hinterland of the Gold Coast. She is fascinated by diverse personalities and emotions portrayed through facial expressions and colour. She explores the use of watercolour and gouache, as the process is a personal experience of relaxation, one that has no control and an unpredictable outcome.

After completing her studies in Fine Arts, Monique has found a love for working with people and teaching her practice as both a private teacher and a secondary Visual Art and Film teacher. Her love for creating and teaching is evident in her practice with one-on-one lessons, workshops, prints, cards and commissions.

Featured Artist: Jeska Valk

Focused on capturing the connections between humans and the natural world around us, Jeska Valk’s portraiture provides an intimate, powerful look into the lives of her subjects. An artist for as long as she can remember, Valk has been carrying her sketchbook around with her since she was twelve, capturing the world around her first through sketches, then photography, and now oil paints on wood.
