The College is proud of its Christian ethos and the many benefits our students receive from our strong pastoral focus. Our Primary and High School Chaplains work closely with staff and teachers to ensure that students receive sound biblical instruction and high quality support.
Students attend weekly Chapel services, enjoying messages from a variety of speakers relevant to their age and stage of spiritual growth. In addition, opportunities are provided for small group sessions, pastoral care, friendship support, boys’ education and leadership training.
All classes begin each day with prayer and devotions and every aspect of the curriculum is presented from a distinctly Christian worldview to instil Godly values and attitudes that will benefit our students for a lifetime.
One of the weekly highlights is our student chapel time and King's has a strong reputation for its vibrant chapel services. Student chapel bands and singers ensure worship time engaging for students, as they enjoy lively and interactive praise. Student involvement is designed to provide them with opportunities to develop their God-given talents and ministries.
Chapel speakers are carefully selected so that they present relevant and understandable teaching into the lives of our young people. Our goal is to instruct, exhort and encourage students towards an increasing appreciation of, and devotion to Jesus Christ.
Every year, King's encourages our senior students and staff to attend the Hillsong Conference in Sydney. 'Hillsong' is one of the preeminent Christian conferences in Australia and the world, and attracts over 35,000 people of all ages every year. The College transports and accommodates hundreds of students for this conference, making it possible for them to attend, and fellowship for this incredible Spirit-filled conference. The evening gatherings offer a spiritual awakening, an opportunity to draw closer to God, and for the eyes of our young people to be opened to the breadth of God's ministry around the globe.
The impact of this conference is one of the most dynamic spiritual influences on our student body. It has inspired many student-led prayer groups and praise meetings around campus, as well as generating a pervading Christian ethos within the College.
An important part of Christian life is giving to the needs of others. King's has a strong missionary outreach locally and overseas, and the College joins in that ministry with opportunities for supervised student mission trips. In doing so, students have the opportunity to express their faith and love of the Lord in their support of those in need.
Mission Markets run each year in Primary school and the student-run markets provide an opportunity for our Primary community to raise money to partner with our charity mission partners including 100% hOPE, Uganda, Manna Ministries, India, Faith That Moves Mountains, Philippines, and Surf Life Saving Chaplaincy, Australia .
Not everyone is able to go on a mission trip. However, in order that everyone can become involved, various local service opportunities are provided for students as well as the opportunity to support a number of missions for which the school raises finance.
