Our third annual Easter Fest event proved to be yet another remarkable triumph, thanks to the unwavering support of King's staff, students, and families. With our 2024 theme centred around the Cross and Crown, we delved into the profound narrative of the rescue mission orchestrated by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The lively, festive atmosphere infused our campus with vibrancy and the rain didn't dampen spirits. Gathering as a school community, our King's Table forecourt, Auditorium, and High School Building overflowed with families, resonating with the tunes of live music, craft activities, face painting, tempting aromas of delicious treats, and adorned with captivating creativity as a backdrop. Inside the auditorium, our audience was treated to our Primary artworks and the talented King's Pimpama student musicians, Primary choirs, and their dedicated tutors, delighted those in attendance with their program of performances. Meanwhile, the Art Walk buzzed with creativity and energy, hosting a range of captivating art, music and dance activities. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our King's families for joining us in celebrating Jesus and for making this community event a resounding success.

Year 6 Shark Tank Culmination Event

King’s budding Year 6 entrepreneurs have been working on a Business Plan this term as part of their Business and Economics subject. Throughout the unit, students created a product or service they wanted to commercialise and then devised a business case they could present to a panel of ‘venture capitalists’ to help launch their business. All of the Year 6 students created fantastic businesses and the top 5 projects were selected for King’s inaugural Shark Tank culmination event.
Recently, the King’s auditorium was filled with a captive audience of Year 6 students, who watched in anticipation as their peers pitched their idea to the ‘sharks.’ The four sharks followed with some challenging questions, but the students responded with confidence. Congratulations to the winning group Alexander Weeks, Bryn Van Leuveren, Callum Wilson and Byron Blatch, whose product Flavour O’s wowed the judges as much as their ability to answer on the spot questions did. The boys received a prize for their efforts.

Preps enjoy Day of Fun with their Teddy's

The second last day of Term 1 delivered a fun day for the Preps with their annual Teddy Bears Picnic free dress day. The preps enjoyed various dancing games, parachute dance, icy poles, colouring-in, storytime and other games to celebrate being one term older despite the rainy conditions.

The Outback Primary School Free Dress Day held at King's Pimpama was a delightful event at the end of Term 1! Spanning two days, depending on your year level, it provided students with the opportunity to showcase their creativity and spirit by dressing up in cowboy or Aussie outback outfits, complete with flannel check shirts, jeans, and fun stetson caps.
It's always wonderful when such events bring together students, teachers, and staff alike, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. The participation of teachers, who also dressed up in their best outback attire, added to the fun and excitement of the occasion. Such events not only mark the end of a term but also create lasting memories for everyone involved. Thank you to "y'all" who dressed up for the occasion. Enjoy a photos.
Primary Teacher Appreciation Awards

On the final day of Term 1, the Primary Staff celebrated a wonderful term, filled with learning, new connections and exceptional teaching, by hosting The Primary Staff Awards.
The morning started with a fun and filling Maccas Brekky, delivered to staff on duty and enjoyed by teachers in the auditorium. With tummies content, the celebrations kicked off with acknowledging our awesome Art Teachers, Mrs Doyle and Mrs Bonser, for their exceptional work preparing artworks for Easter Fest.
Through laughter and anticipation, the nominees and winners were announced, much to everyone's joy! It is always a blessing to be nominated by your colleagues for a job well done.
We acknowledge and value the amazing staff at King's, who work tirelessly every day, to support our students to know they BELONG, develop the faith to BELIEVE and BECOME the person who God created them to be.

Well done Year 5 PD for being the winners of the Most Active School Travellers for Term 1. 53% of the class are Active Travellers coming to school by bus, carpooling, walking or by bicycle. Well done 5PD!

Year 8 Camp

During week 7 of Term 1, Year 8 students left on the Monday morning for their annual camp and headed for Mapleton.
We were blessed with rain beyond belief all throughout the entire 3 days. Students enjoyed a wide variety of activities which saw them grow in confidents over the three days.
They engaged in an incredible time of praise and worship in the evening sessions where God’s spirit moved amongst the group. Despite the weather, the students had an incredible time doing a crate climb, rock climbing, risking all on the giant swing and canoeing.
An amazing time was had by all.
Culinary Japanese Excursion Brings Learning to Life

On Tuesday, 19 March, our Year 9 and 10 Japanese students embarked on a class excursion to Donto Sapporo in Bundall, immersing themselves in the rich flavours of Japanese cuisine. The staff at the establishment welcomed us warmly, exhibiting kindness throughout our visit. It was a delight to witness our students seamlessly apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, confidently ordering drinks and employing the table manners they had studied. Upon our return, several students reflected on their authentic Japanese learning experience, while others diligently worked on perfecting their role-play speeches for the assessment. It was great to see them stepped out of their comfort zones, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in this assessment piece.

''We tried all sorts of new food which was; Sashimi, Tempura, Karaage chicken, Rice, Miso soup, Fish, Tempura, and Green tea (Maccha) Ice cream for dessert. The food was extremely delicious and made me full quite quickly, the desert sort of flushed the fullness down which was amazing. “

“It was a very different experience for me, seeing as I am European, and the way Japanese People eat in terms of courtesy and table manners and what they eat. I put my palate to the test eating foods. I never thought I would try like Sashimi, Miso Soup and Green Tea ice cream. I also learnt how to use chopsticks; I was offered a fork but accepted the challenge of using chopsticks. Although my hands kept cramping up every time tried to grab the food, but it was a great skill to learn. I also ordered drinks in Japanese, which was a very frightening thing to do but I did it with confidence and the help of Mrs Pamiloza. Overall, it was a great experience that I will remember through my schooling.”

‘’I went to a restaurant called Donto Sapporo for a Japanese excursion. The restaurant was small but very nice, cozy and decorated. Since I’m allergic to fish, I got a bento excluding it. I got Kaarage, teriyaki beef, rice, pickled radish and soup. It was very delicious, especially the soup. My friend got a vegetarian meal which had rice, spring rolls, tempura, seaweed, fried tofu and miso soup. She likes the fried tofu and finds everything else a bit bland. The overall experience for the both of us was great.’’

‘’Everybody was given a bento box with rice, pickled radish and other food depending on your needs. I had the regular bento box set which had karaage, pickled radish, rice, a sort of fish paste, deep fried vegetables, and prawn. As well as sashimi and miso soup on the side. The sashimi was my favourite part and tempura was good dipped into the soy sauce. Then they gave us matcha ice cream, which was delicious. It tasted a little herby or grassy almost but still sweet. Also, as we left, they gave us sweets and lollipops which was a nice treat. Overall, it was a great experience, and it was very fun being with my classmates and eating together.’’
