View all 2023 Term DatesAnother milestone in the journey of King's Christian College Logan Village. In late 2022 our then-year 5 students embarked on a leadership journey that would see various students awarded positions within their cohort and in various areas around the primary school.
Fast forward to 2023 and our group of young emerging leaders has taken leadership in their strides and been able to exhibit their skills in various situations. The highlight for all of our leaders is always being able to serve their King's community. Congratulations to all of our leaders for 2023. We look forward to seeing what wonderful things God unleashes within you.
Twice a term our classroom teachers select students that they feel best reflect one of our Foundational Values. These students are honoured at a Foundational Values Asssembly where we also showcase some of our wonderfully gifted and talented.
Not only do we honour those selected by our classroom teachers but we also honour students, and sometimes King's Community members, through our Parade of Champions. It is also a wonderful opportunity for our student leaders to practice their public speaking.
This term we have been blessed to honour Mrs Mosterd, who has been diligently and faithfully volunteering her spare time to cover thousands of our Home Readers since 2020. Thank you Mrs Mosterd
Chess Report
The Official Queensland Inter-school Chess Championships was held Tuesday March 5 at MacGregor State School. There were 226 participants across 4 divisions (A, B, C & D Grade). All tournament games were played in high spirits with our King's Kids representing King’s with Grace and Diligence. From the junior chess in Australia, Queensland is the strongest state, national champions for Primary and Secondary School. Brisbane Logan region is the highest ranked, and therefore King’s Christian College has scored excellent results across 3 divisions. Noticeable mentions for Merit Award Winners, with an impressive score of 4/7 in their respective division;
C Division - Tobin Andrews, Kai Van Breeman & Mila Hennessey
B Division - Brooklyn Hennessey, Ethan Kiely.
Ethan and Brooklyn also had wins against rated players (top 1% of junior students)
Congratulations to these students for these amazing results and well done to all our King’s Kids who also participated in the Chess Championships.
It seem so long ago now but at the beginning of the term we had our Yr 4- 6 swimming carnival held at Pimpama Sports Hub.
With the smallest group of competitors, Tyndale came home victorious with the overall house win. All students participated with Grace and Perseverance and cheered their fellow King's Kids no matter what house they were in. It truly was a great day to be part of King's.
A special shoutout to the small but ferociously competitive army of parents that represented all the houses. Without these parents our Staff vs Students vs Parents race would not have been possible. Thank you for, literally, jumping in and having some fun. The staff and students loved every minute of it.
Here are some reports from our House Captains
Tyndale Swimming Carnival Report
"The year 4-6 swimming carnival was my first duty as the Tyndale house captain.
The best part of my day was leading my house into a win.
A lot of perseverance was shown at the swimming carnival. Although we had the smallest house on the day, we did not give up. We worked harder and participated in as much as we could to gain points towards our house. It was great to see everyone trying their best and encouraging each other, but most importantly having fun. #LETSGOOOOTYNDALE"

FINNEY
“On the 8th of February 2023, years 4, 5 & 6 attended the annual school swimming carnival at the Pimpama sports hub.
It was a great chance for the students to showcase their swimming skills and participate in the top sporting event of the Summer. All competitors showed great courage in taking part in the various races.
My favourite part of the day was watching everyone participating by either cheering on their house team or competing. The funniest event at the swimming carnival was when they played “The Macarena” song and everyone started to perform the dance moves.
I believe this was a great opportunity for future House Captains because they now know some of the leadership duties that they are required to do e.g. setting up a house meeting, working with your co-house captain and creating war cries, swimming in a relay for year 6, year 9, parents and teachers etc. All in all it was a great learning experience.
Also, a Finney house shout out to all the teaching staff who made it a memorable day and lastly, the parents who supported the children.”.
Kind regards,

"My favourite part was watching one of the Newton students dress up as a banana and dancing it was so funny!
I wanted to be house captain because I love leading by example, cheering people on, and doing sports.
Rayleigh house and I showed Excellence by participating in all the events we could.

Well done to Tyndale who took out both house wins for the Fun Run & Cross Country.
We wish you all a Happy Easter and look forward to seeing you next Term for our athletics carnivals.
At Kings Christian College, our Easter Arts Showcase, lovingly called Easter Fest is an opportunity for our staff and students to express our gratitude and reflect on that fateful moment in history when Jesus bore the sin of every person on the cross, so that we may have the gift of eternal life. For only the second year this year, our community of staff and students prepared artwork and musical pieces to perform and display why Easter is so important to them.
This year, as we continue to grow, our campus chose to share 2 sessions, each culminating with an Easter message from our campus Pastor, Ps Sue Sweeney around the theme of Ransom & Rescue
May God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. Galatians 1:3-4 NLT
Happy Easter from Us to You.
Dear School Community,
We are writing to inform you that the Anderson family, Joel and Lyndsay, (Sophie Year 3LA, Elijah Year 2LA and Cohen in Wombats class) will be leaving our college to follow God's leading to become missionaries in Indonesia.
After much prayer and discernment, they have felt called to share the Gospel with the people of Indonesia, and we support them wholeheartedly in this endeavour.
The Andersons have been an integral part of our school community, and we will miss their presence here. They have contributed to our school in many ways, and we are grateful for their service. However, we understand that their calling to serve as missionaries is a noble and important one, and we wish them well as they embark on this new chapter in their lives.
We ask that you keep the Andersons in your prayers as they prepare for their journey to Indonesia. Let us pray that God will grant them strength, wisdom, and protection as they share the love of Christ with those they will encounter on their mission field.
Sincerely,
Peter Fossey
