Weeks of heavy rain in the lead up to the 2021 Cross Country Carnival threatened to postpone the Term 1 event, but a few days of sunshine meant the Pizzey Park track was dry enough for a day of running in the sun. Vibrant House spirit and colour was on display among our Years 3-12 students throughout the day, as all runners collected House points for participating and extra points for placing in their race.

The 8 - 12-year-olds ran for the first half of the day, with the 8s and 9s covering 1.5km, and the 10 - 12-year-olds running 2.5km. Some showed lightning speed and crossed the finish line in record time, while others had a few 'walking breaks' to enjoy the picturesque scenery. The 13 - 19-year-old students arrived after lunch and appreciated the overcast skies and cooler temperature for their extended 3km Cross Country track. It was wonderful to welcome parents at both events this year and hear their cheer as they spurred on our runners along the final 200 metres of track. Well done to all athletes who qualified for King's APS Cross Country team, and special congratulations to our Fastest Overall runners, winning Houses and Age Champions!
