AMEB/ Rockschool - Semester 2 Exam Results

Pimpama

Further to some wonderful results in Semester 1 for our students with AMEB, the Instrumental Music department at King’s continues to see our students achieving great results with a wide variety of musical instruments being undertaken, played and performed.

Students are encouraged to participate in formal Music examinations, which are usually undertaken through AMEB or Rockschool. As we know, this year has certainly created some challenges for students to sit an exam with the COVID restrictions. However, students have adapted to the changes and have still been able to sit for their AMEB or Rockschool exam.

Congratulations to all of these students who rose above the challenges to participate, pass their most recent exam, and achieve these great results. Thanks too to their amazing Teachers.

Violin:  Teacher Mr Ryan Chislett

Mikaela Hunter - Year 8- Grade 2 exam: Result Pass (C)
Amy-Lee Smal - Year 6-Grade 1 exam: Result Pass (C)

Drums: Teacher Mr Danny Lee Drums

One of our students did his debut drums exam online through Rock School, achieving a high result.
Michael Bereznai -  Year 1-Entry Level 3 Exam Result: Distinction

Piano:  Teacher Mrs Angela Lubbe

The following students completed their AMEB P-Plate book one piano examinations in October this year:

Allyvia Flancia (Year 1)
Morgan Soetomo  (Year 2)
Nathan Samuel (Year 4)

The P-plate examinations are introductory non-graded assessments usually done after they have completed their beginner tutor books. They prepare students for the formal music examinations that follow. The students all received pleasing comments about their playing which bodes well for future AMEB examinations and their path to becoming skilled musicians.

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back in the New Year, seeing new faces, and having a wonderful instrumental music year in 2021 in our new classroom.
