APS Swimming Carnival

Both the Primary and High School took part in the annual APS Swimming Carnival last week at Somerset pool. With hot conditions our swimmers were keen to make a splash in the pool. Both teams got off to a strong start in the 100m Freestyle events and supported each other throughout the day. We saw a handful of Age Champions and our 10 year Girls and 13 year Boys took out their age groups earning themselves a Robina lunch with Mr Grady.
Our Primary team finished 6th and our High School achieved their best ever results finishing 4th overall (only 40 points off 3rd!).
I would like to congratulate all of our swimmers and thank the parents who were able to make it out to the pool to support the team. A big thank you to Taylor Durso who did an amazing job encouraging every single swimmer and helping them progress with their strokes in the water. Good luck to everyone who is looking at qualifying for Regionals. I will get the team list out to all parents when I receive them.
