2020 Athletics Carnival Results

The annual King's Pimpama Athletics Carnival was held in superb weather for the three-day event, which took place at the beginning of Term 3.  Now in its fourth year, the Carnival saw 59 new records across various age groups.

Our students exceeded their own expectations with records tumbling and new superstars in the making achieving personal bests.  Out of the 59 records set at this year’s carnival for Year 3 to Year 8 students, 25 were new foundation records and five students set 25 of the total records.  The increase in records was due to the inclusion of new events and a greater number of participants in each age group than last year.

The 100m sprint finals and discuss events each saw eight new records set.  The 200m sprint saw five new records while the long jump, high jump and shot put each recorded seven new records across the various age groups. Congratulations to Age 14 Boys Asher Morrell and Junsei Esaka for setting five and four new records respectively, while the Age 14 Girls, Emily Clark and Lily Petherick each set four records.  In the Age 13 Boys and Girls categories, congratulations go to Simbarashe Marinic and Sarah Phipson for their outstanding results in the 400m and for also setting four records each.

Year 3 students from King's Logan Village campus joined in the activities in the Age 8 categories. Each of the Logan Village students received a commemorative medallion as this was their first-ever sporting event at King's.  Thank you to the P&F for catering morning tea and lunch for the staff on duty at the event.

In 2021, King's Pimpama will host separate carnivals for Primary and High School.
