Charity Blessed By King's Community

The High School Life program is a student-led initiative and one of the practical ways King's students can care and show the love of Jesus throughout our College, and in our local and international communities. The Term 1 projects supported You Have a Friend - an organisation in Tweed Heads that cares for the homeless, marginalised and single parents - especially those fleeing domestic violence. Throughout the term, our High School Pastoral Care classes collected meals in a tin and raised funds during the You Have a Friend free dress day and lunch fundraiser.

The generosity of our community was heartwarming and humbling. The goal was 3,000 meals in a tin and we successfully surpassed that number with an astounding 4,052 cans collected, valuing over $6,500! Well done to the PC classes who brought the most cans and won a pizza party - F4, N2, R7 and T10!

During the fundraising event, Reedy Creek and Pimpama raised a combined total of $4,268 which will be used by You Have a Friend to purchase new waterproof swags for many homeless people across our region this winter. Thank you to everyone in our King's community who so generosity supported this worthy cause.
