Creative by Design 2020 is Coming!

King’s annual Creative By Design (CBD) festival started in 2006 as an opportunity for our primary school students to focus on creative and artistic disciplines as an expression of the heart of God and His purpose for their lives. For four days during Term 4, students enjoy creative explorations of a particular biblical theme through inspiring chapels, talented guest speakers and a variety of hands-on ‘Wow’ lessons, led by our own gifted teachers.

A feature of the week is the release of a new, original song produced by our own talented teaching team as an example of what creative excellence looks like. Songs from previous years include The Force and Heartbeat which became instant chapel classics and were also shared with other churches and schools across Australia. CBD week is structured like a mini conference for kids with both large and small group sessions that engage and make a lasting impact on young lives.

The purpose of the week is to help students uncover their own unique giftedness and passions through experiences in a wider range of curriculum areas. Many students (and teachers) often describe CBD as their ‘favourite week of the year’ because it offers an extraordinary schedule of creative fun and immersion. This year CBD is taking place from Tuesday, 20 October - Friday, 23 October, and during all of these days primary students are allowed to wear their PE shirt, shorts, socks and shoes. This year, students will design their own cap to be worn on the Tuesday through to Friday, and this will be provided to students to decorate in class.

The CBD Colour Run (click to view on Compass) will end this amazing week and will take place on Friday, 23 October at 2pm.
