Creative by Design
The theme for this year's Creative By Design week was 'The Garden'. It was an amazing week where the students were encouraged to explore their God given creativity.
'Creative by Design' week is a favourite primary school event. Instead of learning maths and english, our Prep - Year 6 students engage with the uniquely creative skills that God has given to every child. Created on purpose - for a purpose!
The 2019 theme, 'the Garden', is giving students tools to imagine and grow a beautiful garden, both within their own heart and in the playground at school. Choosing to plant seeds of kindness, unselfishness, respect and compassion will grow a garden where friends will want to play. God promises to guide us each day to create gardens that will flourish.
The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring.
- Isaiah 58:11
King's staff wrote and produced a garden themed song that was launched during Creative by Design week, showcasing to students how you can use the creative gifts God has given you to be a blessing to others. Words and music by Ben Pohlmann, vocals by Tessa Anderson and produced by Barnaby Baker.
A highlight of the week was the final event, a colour run!
