Creative By Design Week: Better Together
King’s annual Creative By Design (CBD) festival started in 2006 as a unique way for the Primary school to enjoy many creative disciplines as an expression of the heart of God, and His purpose for their lives. Our primary students have just finished another extraordinary Creative By Design week and experienced many opportunities to connect with God and each other, as they applied their artistic skills to a range of activities. Each year for CBD, students explore a particular biblical topic and this year’s theme was Better Together which promoted on the importance of unity and teamwork.
This year the four-day long festivities began with Prep – Year 6 students designing their own colourful cap, and dancing to the release of King’s new 'Better Together' chapel song. Throughout the week, students enjoyed visits from special guests including 2020 LEGO Masters finalists Damian Hinds and Andrew Tuppen (a past King’s teacher) who showcased their teamwork with a live Lego build, and renowned singer, Dan Warlow, who captivated the audience with his worship music. Gospel Shows, live chapels, 'WOW' teacher-led lessons, King’s Has Talent final performances, tricks by Nickelby, craft creations, scavenger hunts, and many more activities filled the week with fun.
The festival finished with bursts of laughter and bright paint as students' clothes were transformed from white to a rainbow of colour as they made their way around the tree-lined track for a very memorable 2020 Colour Run. Thanks to our King's staff for creating another unforgettable CBD week!Watch the Colour Run Video
