Friendship Day Inspires Art Installation

"Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence."

World Friendship Day is celebrated across the globe each year on July 30, and was officially endorsed by the United Nations in 2011. This important day reminds us what a wonderful God we have, as we celebrate the special people He has placed in our lives to refresh our souls (Proverbs 27:9).

As an eye-catching way to celebrate World Friendship Day, King's Primary Art Department has been helping students from Pre Prep to Year 6 decorate their paper 'friends', which can be seen linking hands around the Primary precinct and right along the walkway bridge. The colourful installation reflects the diversity of our school community, and provides a visual reminder to all students about the importance of our community, and caring for others.

The extensive 'Friends' exhibition was completed for this year's World Friendship Day on Thursday. Thank you to King's amazing staff, students and volunteers who helped to create and install this special feature around the College.
