Fun-packed Under 8s playdate

Logan Village

More than 300 children from the local community enjoyed a free, fun-packed and active Under 8s morning at King’s Christian College Logan Village on Saturday 12 June.

There were many activities to choose from - catering for toddlers all the way through to eight year olds - including games, putt-putt, jumping castles, an obstacle course, craft, face painting, water play, toys, puzzles and balloons. Older siblings were also entertained by battling it out over who could score the most baskets on the basketball courts.

The children were delighted to see the local police (Logan District Crime Prevention Unit) along with mascot Cluedo, and the Chambers Flat Rural Fire Brigade.

“Our theme for this year at King’s Christian College is 'Growing the Family'. Our Under 8s morning gave families an opportunity to not only engage with their own family in age-appropriate children’s activities, but to also meet other families within the growing community,” said Mrs TraceyVerreynne, Head of Early Learning, King’s Christian College.

“We had lots of fun and enjoyed getting to know our community a bit better. We were overwhelmed that we had 760 adults and children pre-register for the event. The feedback we received about the event was very positive. The children were engaged in all the activities and didn’t want to leave. We also made sure there were lots of giveaways, so the children could bring some free goodies home in addition to the craft they made on the day. Of course the parents enjoyed the free barista-made coffee too!

“Our family at King’s is growing and to accommodate this growth two new Pre Prep classrooms are being built in our Early Learning centre, as well as new buildings starting soon on our Primary school. We look forward to showing you around, so book your personal tour.”
