King's Australian & State Honours Ensemble Participants

Performing Arts

The annual Australian Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP) and the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) are hosted in the Queensland Conservatorium at Griffith University. The Honours Ensemble Program is an educational program for music students that helps extend and encourage their pursuit of musical excellence. Instrumental Music and Vocal teachers were asked to nominate their most outstanding students who meet the nomination criteria for this program.

King's AHEP Participant

For the second year in a row, Anson Kung [Year 8 student] was selected for AHEP, which is a remarkable achievement and identifies Anson as one of Australia's most outstanding young talents. Congratulations Anson!

"Going to AHEP was an amazing experience. It gave me the chance to meet a number of talented musicians from across Australia. We all got to play music in an incredible orchestra and had the opportunity to work with top-grade conductors. On top of that, I enjoyed a two-hour masterclass that really enhanced my techniques as a musician. Across the four days, I played over 30 hours of violin and although it was very tiring, I had a great time and was able to be a part of a wonderful final concert on a huge stage in the Open Conservatorium. Performing on this big stage was a spectacular experience for me and I would certainly love to do this program again next year!"
