Maths Olympiad Sharpens Thinking

Pimpama

This year's Maths Olympiad was a huge opportunity for Year 5 and 6 students to grow in their mathematics skills. It was extremely challenging for me and my fellow classmates. I was very proud of my results, seeing that it was the most challenging mathematics I have ever completed. It was also great to see that every student improved across the 3 separate competition rounds that we participated in.

Maths Olympiad was a great way to sharpen my thinking and stretch my problem solving ability. These tests, which are a set of five problems to be solved in 30 minutes, use real life situations so that they are relatable and easier to understand. Some people do not get opportunities like this to grow and to go deeper into problem solving so I am very grateful that I got to be a part of this wonderful experience.
