Middle School Leadership

"Jesus tells us that the things that come out of someone’s mouth originate in their heart. (Matt. 15:18) A leader needs to pay attention to the things they say because their words are an indicator of their spiritual condition. A good leader’s words will bring light and life. "

A big announcement was made in the High School this week: Applications are now open for our Middle School Leadership Positions for 2021. Over the coming weeks, willing applicants will engage in a process that will see them reflect on and promote qualities they believe make them a suitable applicant for a leadership position.

Students may apply for the following positions:

  • Captain
  • Chapel Captain
  • House Captain

Applicants will spend the next three weeks developing and rehearsing a speech entitled Leading Myself, to be presented in front of their peers in Weeks 8 and 9. Following a vote, short-listed applicants will be interviewed by the Campus Principal and High School Coordinator. Students will have the opportunity to explain why they believe they best meet the criteria for the position to which they have applied.

The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom and their tongues speak what is just. The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.Psalm 37:30–31

Leaders often find themselves in difficult situations and, if their attention is not fixed on Jesus, they can easily get sidetracked or complacent. A strong leader accepts that their strength is not their own, but a supernatural strength that is found in Christ alone.

Exciting times ahead for our High School.
