Primary Students Enjoy National Simultaneous Storytime

Primary

Wednesday, 27 May, marked an important day for the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) who orchestrated their 20th annual National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS). At 11am on Wednesday, many schools, libraries, homes, childcare centres, and book lovers across the country simultaneously took a moment to read the same book, with the opportunity to also enjoy some related activities, provided by ALIA.

The College’s Main Librarian, Mrs Roberts, was very keen for King’s to participate again this year, as the special occasion promotes a love of books and reading, across our Primary community. The Australian book chosen for this year was Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas, written and illustrated by Lucinda Gifford. The exciting and vibrant story of these adventurous chickens inspired interesting classroom discussions, and was enthusiastically enjoyed by our students from Prep to Year 6.
