School Sport Swimming Nationals

Reedy Creek

Last week saw the end of the 2019 school swimming season with the National Championships being held in Melbourne. This year King’s had five students qualify for the Queensland team. I would like to congratulate all team members for doing an outstanding job in the pool and representing QLD and King’s proudly. There were a lot of PB’s, finals and medals brought home by the King’s swimmers. We are blessed to have such a talented group of swimmers here at King’s who are always willing to give their best and work hard for their results.

A big congratulations to Innes Beech who won silver in the 1500m Freestyle. Innes has had an outstanding season in the long distance events and is improving out of sight every year. This was also Maya Zunker’s first School Nationals. Maya displayed her dominance in the breaststroke events and was crowned National Champion in the 50m Breaststroke. Well done, Maya!

I look forward to watching all swimmers progress and continue to improve in 2020.
