Solar Renewable Energy Installed

Reedy Creek

King's was the first school on the Gold Coast to provide air conditioned classrooms. Since 2005, students have escaped the heat of hot Queensland days to focus on their learning.

90kW of clean, renewable solar energy has been installed on the rooftops of our high school campus. It is estimated that the European solar panels will produce 138,378kWhs each year and reduce the peak load that the air conditioning draws during the hottest part of the day. In a climate where the sun shines most of the year, these panels are a positive step in creating a greener environment for future King's kids.

High performance monitoring of every panel ensures the ongoing efficiency of our renewable energy system. Staff and students will have access to an app which provides data on the solar generation and consumption of electricity from our panels.
