Students Achieve PB's at Regional Swimming Trials

Pimpama

A few of the King's Pimpama swimmers shared their recent experiences at the Hinterland District Team at the South Coast Regional Swimming Trials. Well done for all the Personal Best results, and congratulations to those who have been selected to compete at the State Championships in a few week's time.

"On Monday, 1 March, I was lucky enough to be selected to represent King’s as part of the Hinterland District Team at the South Coast Regional Swimming Trials. I was competing in the 200m Breaststroke event. It was a really tough competition with lots of really good swimmers from all across the South Coast. I was super nervous, but also really excited. Although there were only 3 swimmers from King’s Pimpama. I saw lots of familiar faces by the pool - lots of friends from my club, and also my coaches. I missed out on being selected on the South Coast team by just a few seconds! And placed 3rd overall in my age group across the region in my event. I will continue training hard, and can’t wait to do it again next year."
"I represented the Hinterland district and our school in eight events at this swim meet. Throughout the day I got PB’s in nearly all my events and was so excited to see the results go up on wall! I made the South Coast Swim Team for 3 events! 100 Butterfly -3rd, 200 Butterfly -2nd and 400IM -2nd. It was a big day of racing and cheering on my friends from King’s and other swim clubs. I am really looking forward to competing at the State Championships in a few weeks!"
"The Regional Swimming Carnival was a really fun day. It was such a privilege to represent the school. I was able to sit with my coach and the other students I train with, so I felt confident. I was pleased with my swims as I swam a PB for each event, and I finished 4th overall in the 100m Breaststroke. This was my second experience competing at Regional Swimming. I love the competition, and enjoyed the day."
