The Collective Impact of our Community
The generous heart of our College community means that together we can have a far-reaching impact on many lives, as we experience the power of kindness in action. Our combined donations from Primary School and High School increased from $51,000 in 2018, to an astounding $70,000 in 2019, and we appreciate our King's families for the ongoing generosity in supporting our missions.
High School's Life Program
Our Life Program is the charitable arm in High school, where senior students practically outwork King’s Foundational Values, with a focus on serving in three areas including the College community, local and overseas missions.
Term 1 | 2020
King's supported You Have A Friend (YHAF) and raised $2,292.40 for the Tweed-based charity, who support marginalised members of the community. High School students also helped prepare and serve breakfast to the homeless, and collected 2,570 cans of food for homeless people.
Term 2 | 2020
We recently supported Teen Challenge Queensland with a Free Dress Day and BBQ fundraiser, raising nearly $2,500 to help this charity support teenagers battling addiction and other afflictions. Read the full story here.
Term 3 | 2020
Next term, the Life Team will be running a fundraising event to support 100% Hope, a charity that helps underprivileged children in developing countries escape poverty by providing educational development, improved healthcare, water sanitation and food.
Term 4 | 2020
King's will participate in Operation Christmas Child again this year, where students will have the opportunity to donate new items, and help fill Christmas gift boxes for children in need. The Life Team will also host another Festival Lunch to raise money for King’s Care, to purchase products for Christmas hampers to help needy families.
