Where the Wild Things Come to Life

Pimpama

The Year 1 students had an amazing day on their excursion to Paradise Country. They were introduced to various animals including koalas, snakes, emus, dingoes and many more. The students loved exploring the animal habitats, and particularly loved the kangaroos as they were allowed to sit and pat them.

The learning included understanding the external features of Australian animals and how their needs are met in their habitat. The students tasted fresh damper and burnt some energy on the Three Little Pigs playground.

Year 1 at Paradise Country

The highlights of the day were patting koalas and snakes, taking a ride on the tractor around the park, watching the sheep shearing show and blocking our ears as the cowboys cracked their whips! It was a wonderful experience that brought this term's Integrated Studies unit of ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ to life!
