Year 2 Wowed by the Wonderful World of Waterbugs

This week our Year 2 students had an amazing waterbugs incursion that literally brought their Integrated Studies unit to life! The environmental education experts from Waterbug Wonders came to King's Reedy Creek with their creepy crawlies so that the Year 2s could observe the water insects. They learned about the lifecycle of a dragonfly and mosquito and used magnifying glasses to examine the very small molecules. One of the highlights of the incursion was scooping up the water bugs to get a much closer look. The students all loved playing the role of scientists as they explored the exciting world of minibeasts. "I had the best time ever," said Charlotte Sawden (2RM), who wrote a full report below:
