Year 6's Plans to Change Australia

Primary

Year 6 students have been learning about Federal and State leadership in Australia. In Term 3, their teachers posed the driving question: 'What impact does the Government have on our Australian society?' and students were tasked with explaining what change they would make if they were Prime Minister. On Week 9 of Term 3, the students hosted an exhibition for teachers and their peers, to present the issues that concerned them and the solutions they would implement if they led the government of Australia. The students showed remarkable maturity by choosing to address a number of pertinent problems in society, from eliminating racism, abuse and bullying, to helping the poor and protecting the environment in a number of ways. Well done Year 6 for the high level of thought and effort you put into your work on this topic. It was wonderful to witness some exceptional leaders in the making!
