Year 7 Camp

Pimpama

In Week Five of Term 4, our King’s Pimpama Year 7 students had a wonderful time at their annual school camp. All students from the cohort enjoyed two nights away at CYC (Christian Youth Camps) in Burleigh Heads.

Student’s kept busy throughout the day by participating in many beach-themed activities. Tubing was the first activity on offer at the camp, where students had to hold on tight, whilst a boat dragged their tube up and down the Burleigh waves! The next activity on the list was surfing.  Each student was given their own longboard and participated in a land tutorial before paddling out to take on the waves themselves. Next up they had rock climbing at the Paramount Adventure Centre. Students were taught how to be safe climbers and belayers, before tackling the big rock walls. After this groups of 20 students had to work together to guide a giant SUP (stand-up paddleboard) to a small island on Tallebudgera Creek where they participated in lots of team-building activities!

Lastly, students had to test their balancing skills once again, by participating in individual SUP (stand-up paddle boarding), and they all did very well! Not only did the students have fun-filled days, each night student’s represented their school house in house challenges.

Well done to Tyndale for taking out the Year 7 camp cup! This was backed up by live praise and worship which led to a powerful time of ministry.

Overall a phenomenal few days away. A big thank you to all the staff who made it possible and the students who were a joy to travel with!
