Becoming Better Academic Writers

Year 7 and 8 students have been learning that the inclusion of some foreign phrases in their writing, especially Latin, enhances the quality of their product. It creates a more academic tone and, in many cases, creates contracted, impactful content. Students in Year 7 have also been taught that good literature essays will consistently make references to similar texts. Teachers have been pleased to see some excellent preparation from the Year 7 cohort for the essay examination on The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.  Congratulations to the students who have produced exceptional work and a special mention goes to Year 7 Student Emmanuel Mina-Montalvo for his submission.
