Last week we celebrated our creativity with our annual Creative by Design week. It was a very full week with lots of activities. The main purpose of the week is to help students uncover their own unique giftedness and potential passions through a wide range of experiences. Here's some highlights.
On Tuesday the 9th of October the year 4 class went to Jacob's Well to observe human impact on our natural environment. We learned about the types of rubbish most commonly littered, we investigated the positive and negative impacts that man has had on the environment and we talked about sustainability for the future. It was a fun and informative day seeing lots of God's nature and thinking about how we can look after it.

School banking started with a bang!!
We banked $391,70 on our first school banking Thursday with volunteers Joy and Norman Fyfe assisted by our Bank coordinator Ann Pinnock. Helene Young, a banking coordinator from another local school, came to encourage our volunteers and share her banking wisdom - she has been running school banking at another school for 14 years!
Thank you for your support and remember if you have a Commbank school bank account already, to send your banking book in on Thursday mornings ONLY.
If you would like to open a school bank account, parents can open school banking accounts on line or at a branch. Details are here:
The way the banking will work is that the children place their yellow deposit wallets in to the banking bag in class which the volunteers will then collect at approximately 9am on banking day. The volunteers will process the deposits at school, and return the children’s books in the grey bag back to class later that day. When the children have made 10 deposits through school the will be sent a reward card from the volunteers and their parents will choose a reward for them which they can order via the volunteers.
Volunteers are required on Thursday mornings from school drop off time for a couple of hours - the more hands the quicker the banking morning will go.
Any queries or if you would like to join our volunteers, please pop into Reception for details.

Brothers Will (3G) and Henry (1J) Burnel undertook an epic journey on the weekend to raise money for charity. They walked 100km with their family starting at Byron Bay and finishing at The Spit at Main Beach. They travelled 30 plus kms per day. Most of the walking was on the sand.
What an inspiring achievement. As well as raising funds for charity they were able to learn a lot about themselves along the way. This was Will’s second effort, having completed the event when he was seven. This time he was able to support his younger brother Henry.
Henry’s teacher Mr Court was also there to welcome the boys at the end of their journey.
Well done to the boys and their family.
Mia from 4H will be heading to the UK this weekend to compete in a National Dance Championship after winning the Junior Division at a regional competition in the UK earlier this year. This will be the biggest competition she has ever competed in and she has worked so hard all year to prepare for it. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks.
All the best Mia.
Congratulations to our beloved Year 3 teacher Miss Emma Peir who has now become Mrs Emma Geraghty. Emma married her now husband Joe on September 18. Congratulations to you both.
Congratulations to our beloved teacher Mrs Hope Malcolm and our Chaplain Mr Peter Malcolm who have just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. What a good looking couple!!!
Please be aware that there is no parking available for parents in front of the Pavillon. We apologise for any inconvenience but we need to keep this area clear.
Follow King's Art on Instagram and support our Reedy Creek high school student art community! The work of both our Visual Art and Digital Art students is showcased @kingscollegeart. This will give you a taste of what to expect in the art department when high school starts at Pimpama next year.
