We are up to episode five in our ten-part video series celebrating 10 years of King's Pimpama. Each episode highlights a unique moment, memory or milestone from our journey since opening in 2015. The series is being released in the lead-up to Spring Fair, so keep an eye on our social media and enjoy the stories that have shaped our community.
This episode, Episode 5, highlights the first year of high school at Kings Pimpama back in 2019 which marked a cornerstone moment. It was a small team, full of energy and ideas, ready to take on something new. There was a real buzz around the campus, a sense that this was a big moment in the school’s story. Teachers worked closely together, supporting each other and shaping what high school would look like here. It was exciting, a little unpredictable and full of possibility.
At this year’s Spring Fair, we’ll also be hosting a special 10-Year Celebration booth. We’d love to hear your story and the impact Kings Pimpama has had on your life. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or recently joined the journey, your voice is part of the legacy.
Join us as we look back with gratitude and look forward with expectation. A decade of community, growth and faith is worth celebrating.
Recently, our Prep students marked a major milestone: 100 days of learning, growing, and thriving! On Tuesday, 29 July, the classrooms were filled with excitement and colour as students proudly celebrated their 100 Days of Prep.
Dressed in vibrant outfits and beaming with joy, the students took part in a range of engaging activities. From hands-on crafts and counting challenges to interactive games and group projects, the day was packed with fun and meaningful learning experiences that showcased just how far our students have come.
Teachers and students took time to reflect on the incredible progress made over the past 100 days. It was a heartwarming moment to recognise their growth in confidence, skills, and independence.
We wrapped up the celebration in true Prep style with big smiles, colourful balloons, and proudly worn 100 Days of Prep crowns. It was a day to remember, and a reminder of just how much can be achieved in a short time with curiosity, creativity, and community.
During Week 3, we had the opportunity to support the positive impact of Scripture Union Chaplains by visiting Ormeau State School. Our team supplied a tasty breakfast, led games with the students and were available for an encouraging chat. I set up a handball game for the kids, and it was great to see how enthusiastic they were to be part of it and how polite and respectful they were towards us. I asked many of them what they enjoyed about school, and all I heard was positivity about their teachers and the school overall, which was encouraging to hear.
I found the experience very meaningful and rewarding. It showed me how important it is for younger kids to have a positive influence in their lives, and how small moments like that can make someone's day. Many Ormeau State School students enthusiastically asked if we were staying all day. Being part of this experience helped me grow in my confidence and leadership. It reminded me how important our faith is and how we can outwork it to bind communities together to do great things.

The Bible Society Masterclass was a valuable and engaging experience for students in Grades 9 to 11. Bringing together seven schools from Northern NSW, the Gold Coast, and Brisbane regions, the event featured three powerful speakers:
Simon Smart, who explored the theme "Charged with the Grandeur of God: Creation as a gift", Justine Toh, who encouraged students to openly share their faith as a journey through her talk "You’re Human. Embrace the Awkward", Mark Stephens, who challenged us with his talk "Going Public with Jesus: Living faithfully when you can’t control the result".
Together, the speakers gave us perspective, encouragement, and a renewed sense of purpose in how we follow Jesus, and share the gospel with others, in everyday lives. To end off the day, we had the chance to connect with students from different schools. It was interesting to share how Christianity is expressed in their school communities and a great opportunity to encourage one another in faith. Overall, the Masterclass was an inspiring day that strengthened our faith, deepened our understanding, and encouraged us to live boldly for Jesus.

It was an action-packed 3 days on the Sunshine Coast when our Year 9 boys and Year 10 girls competed in the annual Queensland All-Schools Oztag tournament.
Year 9 Boys
Our Year 9 boys were looking to defend their 2024 championship and started the tournament with strong performances against Mt Maria, Keebra Park, and Xavier Wolves to close out their first day with three wins. Under the leadership of Captain Ayvree W., the boys went on undefeated to top their pool and qualify for the semi-finals. It took a gutsy effort to overcome a well-drilled Shalom College in a 6:5 victory to reach the main event, where the boys put on an exhilarating 7:3 winning display against Palm Beach Currumbin Panthers to round out back-to-back championships for their age group.

Year 10 Girls
A debut appearance for our year 10 girls' team, which featured many girls playing a year or two above their age level, saw them close out their first game with a convincing 11:1 win over Toowoomba Christian College. The girls then went on to win all three games on day two of the tournament to qualify for the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, poor weather resulted in field closures and a subsequent draw change, which automatically cancelled the quarter-final draws on the final day of the tournament, and as a result, our girls were knocked out of the playoffs.

On Monday, 28 and Tuesday, 29 July, King’s sent its largest Athletics Team to date to compete at the District Track and Field Trials held at Somerset College.
Our students represented the College with pride and determination, delivering outstanding performances across a wide range of events. A significant number of students placed in the top three — a testament to their commitment and the hard work put in during early morning and holiday training sessions.
We now look forward to seeing the following athletes continue their journey through the school sport pathway as they progress to Regional Trials.

One of our amazing Year 4 students, Miah H, competed at the 2025 UCI BMX World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. On the 28th and 29th of July, she raced in two classes: the 10-year-old girls’ 20” and the 8-12-year-old girls’ Cruiser.
Miah showed great determination and skill as she took on some of the best young BMX riders from around the world. Competing in two different categories was no small feat, and her hard work and training definitely paid off.
We were incredibly proud of Miah for her amazing effort. We look forward to hearing all about your experience.
Year 11 student Hamish C. has enjoyed an incredible fortnight with back-to-back victories in Australian karting.
At the 50th round of the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship in Ipswich, Hamish claimed his first-ever pole position and maiden victory in the KA2 Junior category. After five years competing at this level, Hamish led from start to finish, showing skill and consistency in wet and dry conditions. This win, his 23rd championship start, keeps him in the hunt for the KA2 title heading into the final round in Coffs Harbour.
Building on this momentum, Hamish dominated the City of Melbourne Titles at Todd Road, Port Melbourne. He secured pole position, won all three heats, and took the final by 4.5 seconds — completing a rare and impressive clean sweep against strong competition.
Reflecting on his performance, Hamish said, “This weekend was everything we set out to achieve and more. We’re still learning and improving, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
The Melbourne event also held special meaning as Hamish raced in tribute to “Joe,” the beloved sausage dog of long-time supporter Ritchie McLeod. Joe had been a familiar presence at many races over the years. Hamish’s win was a heartfelt dedication to Joe’s memory and a reminder of the strong friendships within the karting community.
With the final AKC round approaching, Hamish is focused and ready to challenge for the national title
On the evening of Tuesday, 5 August, Year 8–12 students had the opportunity to attend our annual information evening.
