This week at Noah’s Ark, we are excited to celebrate National Reconciliation Week — a time to learn, listen, connect, and honour the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
National Reconciliation Week encourages all Australians to build understanding, respect, and positive relationships as we work together towards a more united future.
As a Christian Early Learning Centre, reconciliation is a deeply meaningful concept for us. The Bible teaches that through Jesus Christ, God reconciled us to Himself, showing us His love, grace, and forgiveness. Through this, we are encouraged to build loving and respectful relationships with one another.
"God reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."
2 Corinthians 5:18
Throughout the week, the children have engaged in age-appropriate experiences that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, explore caring for God's creation, and encourage kindness, respect, and belonging within our community.
One special focus of our learning has been a book we created together called Together in God's Love. This story follows Kangaroo, Koala, Echidna, Wombat, Possum, and Bilby as they journey to the Ark together, learning about friendship, kindness, reconciliation, and the importance of walking side by side to build a community where everyone belongs.
We look forward to sharing this special learning journey with our families and celebrating the many ways God's love brings people together.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."
Matthew 5:9
This term, as part of their Geography unit, our Year 1 students explored the natural, managed and constructed features of their local area, and how people care for the places around them.
Through a walking tour of the school and hands-on activities, students identified features, developed simple mapping skills, and discussed how different people make choices to care for environments, connecting their learning to caring for God’s world.
A highlight of the unit was our “Tiny Towns” project, where students designed and built their own miniature towns. In class, they prepared their designs and building templates, and constructed base maps ready for Build Day.
Our Tiny Towns Build Day was a wonderful success, providing a special opportunity for families to join students as classrooms transformed into creative building spaces.
Together, they used a range of materials to bring their unique town designs to life in a fun, hands-on experience filled with creativity, collaboration, and learning.

On Wednesday, 27 May 2026, at 12:00 pm AEST, our school joined millions of children, parents, teachers, and libraries across Australia and beyond for a special shared reading of Luna Roo.
Published by Little Book Press, the story follows Luna, a spirited kangaroo, and her friends as they chase their football dreams across the outback. Filled with action, teamwork, and fun, Luna Roo inspired our students while highlighting important values such as courage, resilience, and self-belief.
It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading, storytelling, and coming together as a community.

On Tuesday, 26 May, we had the pleasure of taking a group of Year 9 and 10 students to Southern Cross University for the Future Teachers Club excursion.
Students participated in a range of fun and engaging activities, gaining valuable insight into the teaching profession and university life. It was wonderful to see our students so enthusiastic and actively involved throughout the day.

Some of our Year 11 students recently attended the Gold Coast Careers Festival, where they explored a diverse range of future pathways and career opportunities.
The event provided valuable access to universities, training organisations, employers, and industry representatives across fields such as health, trades, technology, business, defence, and more. It was fantastic to see students engaging enthusiastically with exhibitors, asking thoughtful questions, and beginning to consider their future goals beyond school.
Well done to all students for representing King’s so positively throughout the day.

This summary celebrates the recent outstanding achievements and excellent work of students in the LIFE team.

A special shout-out to our outstanding LIFE Media Team, who have embraced a range of exciting opportunities this term to grow their skills, creativity, and confidence. The team has been exceptional in representing LIFE Media while working with "real-world" clients, including teachers, department heads, and members of our wider school community. Their professionalism, communication skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality work have been truly impressive.
Next term is our day of hope event on Wednesday the 12th of August, however, they need your support now.
Please donate any suitable fiction and non-fiction books to the Hub.

The King’s Candlelight Concert was a glimpse of what the future of music at King’s will look like.
Last Thursday night, we held the very first King’s Candlelight Concert, with 30 students from Pimpama and Reedy Creek coming together to present an incredible evening of music. From classical pieces and Disney favorites to powerful moments of worship, it was a night to remember.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support these students as they raise funds for their trip to Japan and Korea later this year.
A special shout-out to the incredible Life Team at King’s for partnering with us and helping the night run so smoothly.
Until next year...
This week the Year 11 Digital Art class visited Currumbin Rock Pools and Cougal Cascades. Students were capturing photos for an environmental campaign using experimental photography techniques. We were thankful for a beautiful day after all the rain of recent weeks.

Some of the Year 10's students from KTTC had a fantastic time at the Sanctuary Boat Show, making it a memorable and engaging learning experience outside the classroom. The opportunity to walk around and explore a wide variety of vessels allowed students to see firsthand the impressive scale, design, and functionality of modern boats. From luxury yachts to practical marine vessels, the event provided a unique chance to connect classroom learning with real-world applications in an exciting and hands-on environment.
Students also gained valuable insight into how marine mechanics works and the broader marine industry. By observing different components of the vessels and learning about how they are maintained and operated, students developed a better understanding of the skills and technology involved in this field. The experience sparked curiosity and interest, giving many students a greater appreciation of potential career pathways within the marine industry while reinforcing the practical relevance of their studies.

Our Year 11 Sport Development Program students recently had the opportunity to support the Oceanic District Cross Country Carnival at Tugun, taking on a range of important official roles throughout the day.
The students played a vital part in ensuring the carnival ran smoothly, demonstrating professionalism, initiative and commitment from start to finish. Their responsibilities included marshalling competitors, acting as the "hare” of each race, managing finish-line procedures including placings and medal presentations, coordinating parents, staffing course checkpoints, and delivering meals to all event staff throughout the day.
Throughout the carnival, numerous people commented on the high standard of our students and expressed interest in learning more about the Sport Development Program. Since the event, organisers have contacted the school to commend the students on their positive contribution and to discuss opportunities for future involvement at district sporting events.
This experience provided an excellent opportunity for students to develop and showcase their leadership, communication, and sporting event management skills. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented the program and our school.
Congratulations to all students involved on a job well done.
