On 19 June, the last day of Term 2, our high school came alive with colour, laughter, and generosity as we held our first-ever High School Colour Run. Organised by our Life Team, the event was created to celebrate the end of term while making a meaningful difference in our community.
The front oval was transformed into a vibrant obstacle course. Students ran through clouds of coloured powder, crawled under army nets, slipped down the giant slide, tackled the inflatable obstacle course, dodged pool noodle attacks from teachers, drenched by water guns, and ended the afternoon by sliming our brave staff. The air was filled with music, laughter, and encouragement as students from all grades cheered each other on.
This term, students were invited to vote for one of three local charities preselected by the Life Team, and Baby Give Back was chosen. This Queensland charity provides essentials like nappies and clothing to vulnerable families, giving children an equal start in life. Knowing our efforts were helping real families gave the event a deeper purpose.
The inspiration to suggest a Colour Run came from a desire to create something fun, memorable, and meaningful for our high school. I’d seen how much joy these events brought to primary schools and hoped our community could experience that same joy—celebrating how far we’ve come while giving back.
Through everyone’s incredible enthusiasm and generosity, we raised an amazing $4180 for Baby Give Back. More than just a fun afternoon, the Colour Run captured the true spirit of our school joyful, united, and committed to making a difference.

We’re excited to launch a special 10-part video series celebrating 10 years of King's Pimpama. Each episode highlights a unique moment, memory or milestone from our journey since opening in 2015. The series will be released in the lead-up to Spring Fair, so keep an eye on our socials and enjoy the stories that have shaped our community.
From a small beginning in 2015 with just Prep to Year 3, our community has grown into a thriving school, having now celebrated its first Year 12 graduates back in 2024.
This series is not only about remembering where we started, but also honouring the pioneers, teachers, and families who helped build the foundation of our school today.
At this year’s Spring Fair, we’ll also be hosting a special 10-Year Celebration booth. We’d love to hear your story and the impact Kings Pimpama has had on your life. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or recently joined the journey, your voice is part of the legacy.
Join us as we look back with gratitude and look forward with expectation. A decade of community, growth and faith is worth celebrating.
The Hillsong Conference trip ran from Monday, 7 - 11 July, during the final week of the school holidays. Two King’s buses transported 70 students from all three campuses in Years 10, 11, and 12 to Sydney for this exciting event. Students and staff from our Pimpama campus joined the group at their accommodation, and both campuses enjoyed attending the conference together.
The trip was led by Mrs Grace James (High School teacher), supported by staff from the Chaplaincy, High School, and Student Wellbeing teams. We’d like to sincerely thank our wonderful bus drivers - Allan van der Linde, Chris McAllister, Peter Mignot, and Hennie van Greuning - for safely transporting our students and staff and navigating the challenges of Sydney traffic with skill and care.
A special thank you also goes to Ray Donaldson (Security) and Sorin Andrasescu (Nurse) for their outstanding care and support of our students throughout the trip.
Aldo V D: Year 12 Student & Senior School Culture Captain
I went on the Hillsong Conference trip a couple of years back, expecting to learn a few things and enjoy praise moments with friends. But each time, I’ve left with something deeper. This year, I learned I can be someone who stands in the gap. God doesn’t just call the boldest; He calls the willing. That might look like quiet prayer, encouraging someone tired, or choosing to live differently. Even when it looks strange to the world, it’s beautiful to God.
I also learned that feelings don’t decide if Jesus is present. He was there in loud worship and in quiet Bible moments. That truth has changed how I see my everyday life at school. Every session felt like another layer being pulled back to reveal how deep, real, and constant Jesus’ love is for us. It’s not just something to feel but to live from. It was in the messages, the stillness, and the times we laughed and prayed together as a school group.
To anyone considering going next year: GO. Let God surprise you. This trip gave me more than memories; it gave me the vision to live boldly for Jesus. I’m grateful, and I’m expectant for what God will continue to do at King’s as we seek Him together.
Leslie T: Year 10 Student
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share how the Hillsong Conference has impacted my life. I grew up in church, shaped by its rhythms, values, and community. I’ve always loved it.
But underneath, I had questions I couldn’t shake. At Hillsong, one night during worship, something changed. Surrounded by thousands of voices, I felt an overwhelming peace. It wasn’t just the music it was God’s presence. In that moment, I whispered, “Jesus, I am Yours.” It wasn’t a rejection of my past, but a quiet surrender to something greater. Later, during an invitation to open our hearts to Jesus, I prayed with trembling hands. I felt something lift, replaced by deep peace.
What made the Hillsong Conference so powerful wasn’t just the songs or speakers; it was every person being transformed together in an atmosphere of surrender and unity. Surrounded by voices from around the world, I distinctly sensed God’s presence drawing me closer, reminding me that He's always near. I have returned home filled with fresh purpose and the confidence to live boldly for Jesus. Hillsong wasn't just a trip; it was where my story changed. I’ve come home with fresh purpose and a quiet confidence to live for Him. Thank you for this incredible opportunity.
Ella-Grace G: Year 10 Student
Hillsong Conference this year was honestly amazing. The theme was “I AM” and you could really feel God moving in every moment. There were over 6,000 people there, and the worship was so powerful it felt like heaven in the room. Every speaker brought such strong messages from God that really hit deep. The Youth Encounter Conference was just as awesome. We had the best time with all the tribal challenges, games, and wild moments. But even more than that, God showed up in such a real way. The worship and speakers were so powerful, and you could feel God changing lives all around the room.
The Hillsong Conference wasn’t just fun, it was life-changing. I left feeling so full of faith, joy, and purpose. If you ever get the chance to go, don’t miss it. God did something special, and I’ll never forget it.
Liberty T: Year 11 Student
I feel so incredibly blessed to have been able to attend the Hillsong Conference during the holidays. It was truly one of the most life-changing and eye-opening experiences I have ever had.
Seeing people of all ages coming together to worship and give all the glory to the Lord filled me with a deep sense of peace and awe that I’ve never felt before. Every message spoken touched my heart profoundly and moved so many young people around me. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of faith and community. I will definitely be going again next year!

This process helps us identify and support students who receive adjustments due to a disability, so they can access learning in the same way as their peers. If your child is receiving any extra support, they may be included in this data collection. Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions.
