What an exciting and action-packed term it has been at King’s Pimpama! From celebrating 100 Days of Prep to the colour and creativity of Book Week and Father’s Day, Primary students have embraced every opportunity with joy and enthusiasm. This term also brought the much-anticipated Creative by Design Week, reminding us of the incredible creativity within our school community.
Science Week saw budding scientists from Primary, Noah’s Ark, and High School dive into discovery, while our whole community came together for the Spring Fair and our 10-Year Anniversary celebrations, a truly unforgettable day filled with sunshine, fun, and fellowship.
On the sporting field, students shone at the Volleyball Senior State Cup, Oztag on the Sunshine Coast, and the Basketball CBSQ Shield, with our largest-ever team representing King’s at the Hinterland Athletics. Camps for Years 4, 5, 6, and 10 created opportunities for fun, faith, challenge, and friendship, experiences that will be remembered for years to come.
This term also saw our Life Program’s Cultural Day of Hope, celebrating the richness of diversity within our community while raising funds for 100% Hope in Uganda. At the same time, our youngest students in Noah’s Ark continued their learning journeys with plenty of fun and discovery, while our Year 12s stepped out in style for their dazzling Formal at HOTA.
As we mark 10 years at Pimpama, we are grateful for the overwhelming support of our families and community. Together, we’ve achieved so much, and it’s been a joy to celebrate this milestone with you.
We pray you have a restful holiday and safe travels. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4.
I will bless the Lord who counsels me;
I always put the Lord in front of me;
I will not stumble, because He is on my right side.
That's why my heart celebrates and my mood is joyous;
In His presence there is freedom and celebration.
Psalm 16:7-11
On Wednesday 10 September we had the honour of welcoming Member for Coomera, Michael Crandon MP, and Federal Member Cameron Caldwell MP to our Pimpama Campus for the official opening of our new state-of-the-art primary classroom building.
Member for Coomera, Michael Crandon MP, performed the official opening and shared, “King’s Pimpama has a vital role bringing the community together in this fast-growing area of the Gold Coast.”
In his address, Principal Rob Verreynne expressed his gratitude to the Queensland Government for its significant support: “The Queensland Government contributed $1.8m through the State Capital Assistance Scheme. We are indeed extremely grateful for the support of the State Government, which enabled this project to be undertaken.”
Pimpama is one of Queensland’s fastest-growing suburbs, with the northern Gold Coast’s population expected to double by 2041. Nearly 30% of residents are under 15, putting pressure on local schools. With Pimpama and Coomera schools at or near capacity, the Queensland Department of Education has flagged the area as a priority for new schools. Ongoing housing and infrastructure growth, including the Pimpama Train Station and Coomera Connector, will continue to bring families to the region and support the need for expanded education facilities.
The celebration reflected not only the growth of King’s Christian College Pimpama, but also our commitment to creating learning spaces that inspire, foster creativity, and encourage engagement. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a guided school tour and morning tea.
This landmark building, featuring 13 general classrooms, a specialist art room, and flexible learning spaces, will serve the growing needs of our school community for years to come.
We are deeply thankful to all who attended this special occasion.
At King's, our mission is to educate students in Christian leadership for tomorrow's generation. While we firmly believe that all students are leaders in their own right, our student leadership program provides a formal avenue through which students can practise and develop their leadership capabilities at our school.
Following a rigorous selection process and prayerful consideration, we are honoured to announce our 2026 Executive College Captains. These remarkable Year 11 students have demonstrated their outstanding leadership capabilities and heart for others throughout their time at King’s. We look forward to serving alongside the students as they take up their exciting new roles.
Congratulations to our 2026 Executive College Captains, pictured below with Mrs Pepeita Hamilton, Head of High School, and Mr Rob Verreynne, Campus Principal.

On Thursday, 28 August, Noah's Ark and Primary celebrated the DAY OF HOPE. This day was all about acknowledging 100% hOPE, an incredible organisation/school community in Uganda. The students and staff dressed up in the colours of the Ugandan flag (black, yellow and red) and bought donuts. Over $3000 was raised across the day - all of it is going directly to helping to build a second boys' home at the 100% HOPE school. This means that they can welcome in more students to their school.
We also hosted DAY OF HOPE chapels, which included an African-inspired just dance game and a special message about serving others, just like Jesus did.
In addition to this, many of the classes wrote letters to the students at 100% hOPE, which was emailed to Trishelle, the founder of 100% hOPE. Trishelle said, "Thank you so much! This is very sweet of your students to do this for our kids!".
Huge thank you to every student, staff member and parent for getting involved and giving generously. You are making a huge difference in the lives of others.
Bless you.

On 22 August, we officially had our first High School Cultural Fest! It was amazing getting to school in the morning and seeing so many people dressed up to celebrate each of their cultures. Whether they were wearing their cultural flags’ colours, cultural accessories, sports jerseys with their country on them, or went all out on their entire outfit, it was such a special time for everyone to be able to express culture and diversity.
At first break, donuts were sold to students and staff to help raise funds to build a new boys’ home for an organisation called 100% hOPE. This organisation is a charity that works toward giving underprivileged children in Uganda, hope and a future through providing education and community. All the funds raised will go directly to their building project. The total raised by the high school, was a whopping total of $3018.95. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
After this, there was a special whole high school chapel with many different items prepared to further celebrate the diversity within our school community. Multiple students, staff and family members were chosen to acknowledge the traditional owners of this country, pray in their native languages, and perform praise and worship songs. I was blessed enough to do a Samoan Siva performance with a group of my friends, which was such an honour. There was so much support from the entire school, and it was amazing to witness everyone so intrigued by everyone’s cultures, whether their own or not. The dance item was followed by worship, an awesome preach by a King's parent, a praise party, and opportunities for everyone to stay and take photos.
Whether people performed, served, bought donuts, donated money, helped with decorations, dressed up, or even just cheered their peers on, this day was incredible due to the efforts of everyone involved. This Cultural Fest turned out better than I could have ever imagined, and I can’t wait to see it continue to develop and grow for our school in future.

We recently held the inaugural Year 2 Spelling Bee. This was an engaging and spirited event in celebration of literacy and learning. The indoor amphitheatre sported cheerful yellow and black balloons to reflect the vibrant “busy bee” theme. Fifteen enthusiastic students took to the stage with their bee headbands, displaying impressive confidence and spelling ability as they progressed through each round.
The event concluded with medallions awarded to the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd place finalists, and the presentation of a special trophy to our overall Spelling Bee Champion. A big shoutout to our awesome judges for keeping the spelling fair and square, and to our timekeeper for making sure no one buzzed past their time!
Spontaneous challenges and spot prizes were also awarded to students in the audience who were brave enough to spell particularly challenging words. It was fantastic to see so many eager participants buzzing with excitement and supporting their classmates. Congratulations to all students who practiced their weekly spelling words in preparation for the class rounds. We are proud of all of our students for their perseverance and determination. Well done, Year 2 Bees!
The King's Lions AFL Team (Year 5 and 6) competed at the AFLQ Schools Cup Competition in sweltering conditions.
This was a significant competition for King's to be involved with and showcased the depth of our up-and-coming AFL talent! There were some standout individual performances across all four matches, but it was the 'team first' attitude that was most impressive! Well done to all involved, especially Mr Anderson for your efforts in preparing our boys!
In week 6, we celebrated Children’s Book Week, which is an extremely anticipated event for our primary students. This year, the theme for Book Week was ‘Book an Adventure’, which inspired a week full of adventure-themed activities, costumes and decorations.
We kicked off the week with our much-loved dress-up day, and it was wonderful seeing all the students and staff in their amazing costumes. Throughout the week, the libraries were transformed into an airport and airplane to highlight all the amazing places that a book can take you. Students also received an ‘adventure passport’ which they brought to the library each day during book week to complete a challenge and get their passport stamped. Students who completed their passport went into the draw to win a $20 QBD book shop voucher (Years 4-6) or a picture book (Prep-Year 3). Congratulations to all our lucky winners!
Prep to Year 3 classes also received a special delivery of a mystery book delivered straight to their classroom. Both the students and teachers were very excited to receive and open their ‘special delivery’.
Thank you to all the students, teachers and families who helped make this year’s book week such a success.
Law firm work experience opportunities
Jeff Horsey Solicitors in Upper Coomera have provided the opportunity for King’s students to undertake work experience in their law firm to get an insight into what being a lawyer entails. This year, we have had 15 students who will take up this opportunity.
Recently, Ava S. attended work experience with the company and shared the following about what she did and learnt in her time there.
“The work experience at Jeff Horsey’s was an amazing opportunity and very insightful to how a solicitor's office works. I was able to partake in administrative roles and attend Beenleigh and Cleveland Courts. These experiences were incredible, and I very much valued my time with them.”
