What an incredible Term 3 it has been at King’s Reedy Creek! From the excitement of Book Week and the joy of our Father’s Day Celebrations to the creative energy of Creative by Design Week, our students have once again demonstrated their passion, imagination and enthusiasm for learning.
Science Week brought discovery and wonder to every corner of the campus, while sporting achievements continued to shine, whether at the Volleyball Senior State Cup, Oztag on the Sunshine Coast or the Basketball CBSQ Shield. We were also proud to see such a strong contingent represent King’s at the Hinterland Athletics Carnival, showcasing both talent and determination.
For many students, Term 3 was filled with unforgettable camp experiences across Years 4, 5, 6 and 10, each one a chance to grow in faith, friendship and resilience. Our Life Program’s Cultural Day of Hope added a special highlight, celebrating the richness of cultures within our community while raising funds to support 100% Hope in Uganda.
There was also plenty to celebrate across our youngest and oldest students, from the energy and joy of Noah’s Ark learners beginning their journey, to the elegance and excitement of our Year 12s as they celebrated their Formal in dazzling style at HOTA.
As we reflect on this term, we are deeply proud of the way our students, staff and families continue to embody the heart and spirit of King’s. Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement, it is such a blessing to be part of this vibrant community.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving, present your request to God, and then the peace of God that transcends all understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7
We wish you all a safe, refreshing holiday and look forward to seeing you in Term 4 as we continue this journey together.
Currently, in the middle of our school, we are constructing a two-storey and a three-storey building. This is the biggest single construction project we have undertaken at King's Reedy Creek. The project includes 12 general classrooms, 4 flexible learning areas, a dance studio, an instrumental music room and amenities.
The Qld Government, through the Block Grant Authority, has contributed $155 301.50 towards City of Gold Coast infrastructure charges associated with this project. We are very grateful for the financial assistance from the Qld Government towards these charges.
In conjunction with this, the College is funding on the ground floor: a new canteen and eating area, clinic and student wellbeing centre in what will become the central student services hub.
This project is on track to be completed by the end of this year, so that it will be available for students to enjoy from the start of the 2026 school year.
On Tuesday, 16 September, our Noah’s Ark community joyfully celebrated the arrival of our very own native stingless bee hive. This special addition reminds us of God’s wonderful creation and the many ways He provides for us through even the smallest of creatures.
The idea began with the children, who shared their curiosity about bees and how they help gardens grow. We took their suggestion to our wider community, inviting families, educators, and children to vote on whether we should welcome bees into our playground. The response was an overwhelming “yes,” showing how God calls us to work together in community and listen to one another.
Native stingless bees—sometimes called “tickle bees”—are gentle and safe. They are also God’s little pollinators, playing an important role in helping plants grow and flowers bloom. As we watch them at work, we are reminded of how everything in creation has a purpose and is part of God’s plan for a healthy, flourishing world.
The hive is more than just a home for bees; it is also a living classroom. Our children will be able to observe God’s design through the bees’ life cycle, discover the importance of pollination, and learn how caring for creation is part of our responsibility as stewards of God’s world. As Psalm 24:1 reminds us, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.”
The hive opening was a joyful celebration of curiosity, learning, and faith. We look forward to seeing how our children continue to marvel at God’s creation, grow in appreciation for the natural world, and learn how small acts of care can make a big difference.
At Noah’s Ark, we believe that nurturing wonder for God’s creation helps children deepen their faith and develop a heart for stewardship. Our bees are a beautiful reminder of God’s creativity and provision, and we are excited to watch the learning and joy they bring to our community
Year 10 Food Technology and Textiles Design (FTTD) students have proudly completed their streetwear hoodie project, combining creativity with technical skill. Over several weeks, students researched streetwear trends, developed original designs, and used techniques like HTV vinyl printing, embroidery, and appliqué to bring their hoodies to life. From bold graphics to unique silhouettes, each hoodie showcased the students’ personal style and growing confidence in garment construction.
Guided by their teacher, students learned essential skills such as pattern drafting and sewing with stretch fabrics, gaining valuable hands-on experience. The finished hoodies not only reflect their creativity but also mark a major milestone in their design journey.
Year 8 students explored migration stories in our Changing Nations unit, proudly sharing how family journeys shaped them. From heartfelt reflections to sharing cultural treats like milk tart, pastries, lamingtons, and Vegemite bites, the classroom celebrated diversity and heritage. This activity deepened connections, showing the power of knowing where we’ve come from.
"Both my parents are first-generation Koreans who moved to Australia. They moved because there is better air quality and opportunities for themselves and their children. They brought stories of strength, culture, and sacrifice. Some of my ancestors were separated during the Korean War, a bitter part of our family’s past that still resonates today. Growing up in Australia, I’ve embraced my Korean identity with pride. Every New Year's, I eat manduguk, which is dumpling soup. This symbolises the start of a new year, hope, and good fortune. It also connects me to the generations before me and is a small way of blending old memories with new ones". - Rachael C.
"My family and I migrated from South Africa to Australia in 2019.
We came here because my dad got a great work opportunity, a better living climate, and a better place. This journey has shaped me because I have grown up as a South African and am now a proud Aussie. One special tradition I still carry with me is having milk-tart during Christmas time and when celebrating my birthday". - Pieter Daniel (PD) J.
"My grandparents migrated from Germany to Australia in the 1950s. They came here because they wanted a new start in a recently found country. My family today hasn’t really been changed by our ancestral history because we have been in Australia for 5 generations. Most of my traditions are Australian, like how we do a barbecue every Australia Day with my family. We also have a tradition to go surfing every Christmas Day after presents, and then have a Christmas lunch with my Grandparents".- Talus M.
We are delighted to announce that Lynne N., one of our outstanding Legal Studies students, has been awarded First Place in the prestigious Gold Coast Schools Legal Essay Awards 2025.
Hosted by SPG Lawyers in partnership with Griffith University Law School, this long-running competition has challenged students from across the Gold Coast since 1996, inviting them to tackle topical national and international legal issues.
At the awards evening, held on 15 September at the offices of SPG Lawyers, Lynne was presented with her trophy by Tony O’Connor, Partner at SPG Lawyers, and Professor Therese Wilson, Dean of Law at Griffith University.
This is an incredible achievement – and it adds to a remarkable track record for King’s. A King’s student has now won the competition three times in the past four years (2022, 2024, and 2025), highlighting the strength, talent, and passion of our Legal Studies students.
We are so proud of Lynne for this well-deserved recognition and congratulate her on this outstanding success!

Over the final two weeks of Term 3, Year 10 KTTC students participated in work experience across a wide variety of industries.
These placements provide students with valuable first-hand insight into the world of work, helping them to develop practical skills, build confidence, and explore potential career pathways.
Many students have returned with new perspectives on their strengths and interests, and in some cases, clearer goals for their future studies and employment.
We sincerely thank the businesses and organisations that have generously supported our students and invested in their learning during this time.
In the last week of Term 3, our Sport Development Program students took on the challenge of organising an “Amazing Race”-style activity and leading sport and gym sessions for primary students as part of Creative by Design Week.
These events not only gave our younger students a fun and engaging physical outlet, but also allowed our Sport Development students to strengthen their leadership, teamwork, and event-planning skills in a real-world setting.
We are proud of the initiative, creativity, and maturity they demonstrated throughout the week.

Christopher H., 13-year-old student in Year 8, has recently returned from the United States of America, where he pursued his dream of playing baseball internationally.
In June 2025, Christopher was selected to compete at the Baseball Nationals in Sydney. His pitching was outstanding, with the media dubbing him “King of the Hill”. He delivered an exceptional tournament, with his leadership and sportsmanship standing out, and pitched consistently at 75 miles per hour (approx. 120km per hour). Coaches and players from other states commended his respectful approach to the game.
Following Nationals, Christopher was chosen for a six-week tour of America. He joined the Rising Stars Legacy Tour in San Diego and represented Australia with the Aussie Drop Bears in Branson, Missouri.
Christopher’s talent was then showcased on the world stage at the Cal Ripken World Series, the largest international baseball tournament in the world. His pool alone featured 42 teams from the United States and other baseball powerhouse nations. During the tournament, Christopher produced a highlight moment with a remarkable grand slam. The ball cleared the fence to bring in four crucial runs, lifting his team’s performance and placing pressure on team Panama. The Aussie Drop Bears dug deep and competed with great determination.
For his efforts, Christopher was named MVP of the match, an achievement that reflects not only his skill but also his commitment, composure, and team spirit.
Christopher’s journey from Nationals in Sydney to the world stage in America is a testament to his hard work and dedication. He has represented both his country and our King's school community with excellence, and we look forward to watching his sporting journey continue to unfold.
We’re proud to celebrate Year 11 Dallas P., who has successfully graduated from Gold Coast Trades College, having completed his Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation.
Now, Dallas is looking to take the next exciting step by pursuing an apprenticeship in the automotive industry. With his qualification in hand and a genuine enthusiasm for the field, he’s well on his way to becoming a skilled automotive professional.
We wish Dallas all the best as he begins his journey into the workforce. Congratulations again on this fantastic achievement!
Week 10 has been all about Work Experience for our Year 10 students! This valuable program gives students the chance to explore potential career pathways, develop practical skills, and gain first-hand insight into a variety of industries.
This term, students participated in an exciting range of placements, including animal care and tourism, optometry, sound and media (audio-visual), sport and recreation coach shadowing, construction, dentistry, healthcare, and drone aviation in the aerospace industry.
The feedback from both students and host organisations has been overwhelmingly positive, with many students reflecting on the new skills they developed and the clarity gained about their future career interests.
Here’s a small glimpse of our students in action, and we look forward to sharing more highlights from these experiences next term!
Our library strives to encourage students to develop a love of reading through engaging classes and creative programs throughout the year. On Monday, 8 September, the high school LIT walks group joined our Book Speed Reading program.
Students rotated quickly through a variety of books and genres, giving each a short trial read before moving on. This fun and fast-paced activity helped them sample a wide range of stories and styles, making it easier to discover the book that truly captured their interest and was the perfect match for their next read.
The annual King's Ball is more than just a glamorous evening for parents and staff from Logan Village, Pimpama and Reedy Creek campuses to celebrate our College - it is one of the most impactful fundraising events of the year.
Hosted by the Reedy Creek P&F, you are invited to partner with us in championing students to participate in life-changing mission trips. From Year 10, teams of students travel to remote communities in Queensland and developing nations abroad on mission trips. These experiences encourage students to engage in meaningful community development projects, foster leadership, compassion, and a deep sense of service. Through these immersive trips, students are empowered to LIVE PURPOSEFULLY, making a real-world impact while gaining a broader understanding of global and local challenges.
We invite you to contribute to this evening with purpose by:
