It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of our Year 12 Student Leaders for 2026.
We have been incredibly impressed by the way our Year 11 students have approached the leadership application process this year. Their commitment, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm have set a wonderful tone for the year ahead.
We look forward to working alongside our 2026 Student Leadership Team and the new Year 12 cohort as they step into their roles, continuing to lead our school with integrity, purpose, and heart.
Our Executive Leaders recently gathered for a special lunch where the 2025 leaders had the opportunity to pray for and encourage the incoming 2026 team — a meaningful moment of blessing and continuity within our leadership journey.

Academic
Science Academic Awards
14 October 2025
Each year, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Australian Institute of Physics and the Psychology Teachers’ Association of Queensland recognise the exceptional achievements of Year 12 students across Queensland who have excelled in their respective subject disciplines. Students receive certificates from these professional bodies to recognise outstanding achievement, indicated by a score of 45/50 or better for school-based (internal) assessments in Chemistry and Physics, or a score of 47/50 or better for Psychology.
Since the introduction of the ATAR system to Queensland, King’s students have excelled in academic achievements, with multiple students qualifying for these prestigious awards each year.
This year, the Science Department is honoured to announce that 23 of our Chemistry students, 12 of our Physics students, and 23 of our Psychology students have qualified for certificates of excellence in 2025! These results are not achieved in isolation but as part of the combined efforts of students, their supportive families, science teaching staff (both senior specialty teachers and teachers who prepare our students through their middle years), as well as the entire loving and supportive King’s community from Noah’s Ark all the way through to graduation.
Please join with us in prayerful support for our Year 12 cohort as they undertake their external exams beginning on 27 October.

Our Primary students ended Term 3 with colour, creativity, and joy as they wrapped up a marvellous week of Creative by Design — a celebration of God-given creativity and the arts that inspires students to think, design, and express themselves in unique ways.
The week concluded with an unforgettable Colour Run on the ovals, filling the campus with laughter, friendship, and vibrant school spirit.
It was a wonderful reminder of the joy that comes from learning, creating, and celebrating together as a community.

One of the highlights of our Creative By Design week was the finals of King’s Has Talent, which were held on the last day of Term 3. The performers displayed an outstanding level of skill, dedication, confidence, and commitment. Their God-given talents were on full display for our school community, and their peers cheered loudly and proudly during each of our auditions, semi-finals and finals.
This year, our competition was held in two different categories for each division. The 'Rising Stars' category was new this year and catered for students who have recently started learning their skills or performing their act in front of others. The 'Next Level' category catered for students who are more experienced and whose skills have been developed over a longer time.
Congratulations to all of our finalists, who received a certificate and voucher to enjoy over the upcoming holidays. We kicked off Term 4 with the Performing Arts Showcase, which was a spectacular celebration of talent and creativity, featuring an evening of high-calibre performances across Dance, Drama, Music, Instrumental Music, and Choir. The event also included the presentation of the annual Performing Arts Awards, recognising outstanding student achievement and dedication across each discipline.
A highlight of the evening was the exciting announcement of KPAX – King’s Performing Arts Excellence Program, a new initiative designed to extend and enrich the College’s gifted performers. Twenty students were formally inducted into the program, with Mrs Chris Harm sharing some of the incredible opportunities that await them in 2026, including a performance tour to Melbourne.
The night also held a touching moment as our graduating Year 12 students were each presented with a small gold star pin — a keepsake honouring their contribution to the Performing Arts during their time at King’s.

Finding Nemo Jr.
14 October 2025
We are delighted to share that tickets are now available for our upcoming school musical, Finding Nemo Jr.
Join us for the story of Marlin, a worried clownfish, who lives with his son Nemo in the Great Barrier Reef. Nemo wants to explore beyond their home, but he gets caught and taken to Sydney. Marlin must be brave and travel across the ocean to find him. Along the way, he meets friendly characters like Dory and Crush the sea turtle. Together, they face challenges and learn about family and friendship.
The show features fun songs like “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” bringing the underwater world to life on stage with lots of adventure.
Before Term 3 wrapped up, our Year 5 and 6 Reedy Creek netballers competed at the Primary Schools Cup. Playing against students from across Queensland, our teams brought energy, teamwork and school spirit to every game. We are so proud of the way they represented King’s on and off the court.

KTTC Apprentice Sign ups
16 October 2025
+1
Several of our dedicated KTTC Year 11 and 12 students have made the most of their school holidays by securing school-based Apprenticeships — a fantastic achievement that reflects their hard work, perseverance and commitment to their future careers. Congratulations to Cooper, Connor and Jonte on these exciting next steps.
Cooper S. - Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician with Krave Electrical. Cooper has been faithfully completing work experience with Krave Electrical for nearly 18 months while the company awaited several major contracts. His dedication, patience and consistent effort have paid off, earning him a school-based apprenticeship and setting him up for a bright future in the electrical trade.
Connor A. - Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician with Dansted Electrical. Connor’s dedication and enthusiasm during his 12 months of work experience with Dansted Electrical have made a lasting impression. His effort and perseverance have opened the door to a school-based apprenticeship and a mentoring opportunity towards becoming a Project Manager.
Jonte U. - Cert III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology with Rick's 4X4. Jonte was deciding between engineering and mechanical until he did some work experience in both and really enjoyed working on 4WD motors. He also impressed his employer with his positivity and willingness to work hard. Congratulations, Jonte!
Congratulations to Zahli J., who was successful in securing an incredible work experience placement at Australia Zoo - an opportunity offered to only a select few students. This unique experience gave Zahli the chance to explore behind-the-scenes operations at one of Australia’s most iconic wildlife destinations.
What was the most valuable thing you learned during your work experience, and how has it influenced your thinking about your future career pathway? During my work experience at Australia Zoo, I got to do some amazing things like feeding the lemurs and rhinos, walking with the dingoes and wombats, and helping clean their enclosures. I also helped meal prep for the emus and cassowaries and learned how much care and effort go into the animals at the zoo. I loved talking with guests, including someone from America, and telling them about our wildlife. The most valuable thing I learned was how much effort and teamwork go into caring for the animals. It really showed me how rewarding it can be to work with wildlife; it’s made my passion for caring for animals and pursuing this career in the future even stronger than before.
Daney V. Z. - Work Experience
14 October 2025
Securing a work experience placement in the Health Care industry is not easy. Opportunities are limited and highly competitive. That’s why we’re incredibly proud of Daney V. Z., a Year 10 student who successfully landed a placement in this vital and fast-paced field. Daney's experience offered her a rare glimpse into the day-to-day realities of health care and provided valuable insight into the skills and dedication required to work in such an essential industry. What was the most valuable thing you learned during your work experience, and how has it influenced your thinking about your future career pathway? During my work experience at the WiSE emergency medical conference, I learnt how valuable good communication and teamwork are, especially when directing delegates and interacting in workshops. I also helped with cleaning and even got to volunteer in some of the practical sessions, like having my wrist cast. My favourite part was observing the ultrasound workshop with various hands-on practices, which I found really fascinating. I also got to listen in on some seminars, which were an eye-opener for emergency care. While I’m not sure about a career in emergency medicine, this experience made me interested in possibly exploring sonography in the future.
Blaine M. - Work Experience
14 October 2025
The Aviation industry is one of the most sought-after fields for work experience, with limited placements and high competition making opportunities hard to come by. That’s why we’re thrilled to celebrate Blaine M., a Year 10 student who successfully secured a placement in Drone Technology at Multi Access Drone Solutions. This unique opportunity offered him a behind-the-scenes look at drones used in agriculture, which has provided him with valuable insight into the skills in this field.
What was the most valuable thing you learned during your work experience, and how has it influenced your thinking about your future career pathway? My time at Multi Access Drones has given me an extreme amount of valuable information about the job and the technology in use. I learnt numerous things from changing the blades on drones, to the use of commercial drones like the T100, T50 and T25, drones used in agriculture around Queensland. I attended the Gympie town hall Meeting where they talked about the invasiveness and dangers of "giant rat's tail" and strategies to remove them. But the most important thing I learned was cross-contamination. Part of the job is to clean drones after certain jobs to avoid cross-contamination. I learned that just one seed, and or a little bit of minerals/nutrients can ruin an entire farm. You must be super careful with cross-contamination, especially when you work with the government on the untouched islands around Australia. I am very happy that I worked with Multi Access Drones. My boss was very nice and helped explain things thoroughly. I now feel like I want to work with drones for my future career.

September Mission and Personal Development Trips
14 October 2025
+3
In September, we were excited to see five mission and development trips head out — two international, one rural, and two personal development trips — involving a total of 92 students.
Our international mission teams travelled to Denpasar, Bali and Chiang Rai, Thailand, where students had the opportunity to serve and minister within local communities. Another group journeyed to St George and Mungindi in outback Queensland, connecting with and supporting these rural communities.
A team also ventured to K’gari (Fraser Island) for a camping and ministry experience that included plenty of team-building — and a bit of fishing, too!
Meanwhile, our Extreme Conference team travelled to Mackay for three days of worship, teaching, and spiritual growth.
