This year marked King’s inaugural entry into the Titans Cup, with our Years 7–8 Boys Rugby League team producing a memorable first season.
Despite wet weather disrupting training sessions and game scheduling, the team continued to improve and remained competitive throughout the competition. Their persistence was rewarded with a place in the finals series.
The boys delivered one of their strongest performances of the season in the Preliminary Final, defeating ladder leaders Ormeau Woods State High School 30–14 to secure their place in the Grand Final.
The team then faced a strong Marymount College side in the title decider. Although the 46–4 result did not go their way, reaching the Grand Final during King’s first year in the competition was a significant achievement.
David H., Lucas B., Kaelan M. and Alex W. were among the team’s most consistent performers and played important roles throughout the season.
We are incredibly proud of the resilience, teamwork and determination shown by the entire group. The boys demonstrated that they can compete with some of the strongest schools in the competition and have established an exciting foundation for future Titans Cup campaigns.
