Tertiary Institution Open Days
Tertiary institution open days are now in full swing. Students in Years 10–12 who are considering university after school are strongly encouraged to attend open days at several institutions.
These events allow students to explore campuses and facilities, speak with course representatives and compare the programs offered by different universities. Courses with the same name can vary significantly between institutions, so students should carefully investigate course content and graduate outcomes to ensure their chosen qualification supports their future career goals.

Mater Hospital Open Day
Students interested in healthcare pathways can attend the Mater Hospital Brisbane Open Day to learn more about study, training and career opportunities within the healthcare sector.

Overseas Medical Work Experience
Students aged 14–18 who are considering a future in medicine or healthcare are invited to attend an upcoming webinar about supervised overseas medical experience programs.
Programs run during the mid-year and summer holiday periods and provide opportunities to spend time in hospitals, community health settings and workshops with local doctors. Students participate alongside other young people with similar career interests, with 24-hour supervision and support provided by Projects Abroad staff.

Australian Defence Force Information Sessions
The Australian Defence Force holds regular information sessions in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast. These sessions provide opportunities to learn more about the different services, career roles, entry pathways and training available.

School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships
Current school-based apprenticeship and traineeship vacancies are available for Year 11 students and are updated regularly as new opportunities arise.
Students interested in a particular pathway who cannot find a suitable advertised vacancy may also approach an employer who may be willing to support them through a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship.
Families should also review the College policy regarding alternative study options and reduced academic loads for students in Years 11 and 12.

Year 11 students visited the Careers Event at Aquis Park on 23 July, where they explored a wide range of future study and employment pathways. The event provided valuable opportunities to speak directly with industry representatives and learn more about career options, entry requirements and job prospects.
