In Term 2, our Prep students explored an Integrated Geography unit titled “What makes a place special, and how can we care for the places God has given us?” Throughout this unit, students investigated the features of different places, why certain places are special, and how we can care for them.
The children identified five important places in their own lives and community: church, beach, home, shops, and the park. They then selected one special place to recreate as a diorama.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, filled with creativity, conversation, and excitement. The classroom buzzed as students proudly shared their ideas and worked collaboratively with their peers. Our Year 6 buddies visited to admire the wonderful dioramas the students had created, which was a special moment our Preps got to share.
