We recently held the Year 2 Spelling Bee, an initiative of our Academic Excellence Program.
The event introduces students to our academic competition pathway and provides an early opportunity to build confidence in competitive spelling.
From Years 3 to 8, top spellers can progress to the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee, a timed online competition.
The six highest-performing students then advance to the King’s Intercampus Spelling Tournament, where teams compete for the prestigious title of King’s Spelling Champions.
The Year 2 Spelling Bee was a joyful celebration of literacy, learning, and perseverance. Fifteen enthusiastic students participated, confidently showcasing their spelling skills.
Medallions were awarded to our second and third-place finalists, while a special trophy was presented to the overall Spelling Bee Champion, Roman W.
Audience members also had the opportunity to join in spontaneous spelling challenges, with spot prizes awarded for successfully tackling particularly tricky words.
Congratulations to all of our outstanding Year 2 Bees for their dedication, courage, and hard work throughout the year.
