King’s Pimpama began its Father’s Day celebrations with a remarkable show of community spirit as more than 360 dads and father figures joined their children for Walk to School with Dad on Thursday, 3 September.
Families gathered at Gainsborough Parklands, where dads enjoyed a complimentary coffee before walking to campus together. Students who walked, rode or caught the train to school also received a complimentary breakfast item. Held as part of our Active School Travel program, the event encouraged healthy travel choices while giving families valuable time to connect at the beginning of the day.
Once on campus, the celebrations continued in Primary classrooms, where dads and father figures shared special activities and memorable moments with their children. The joy, laughter and connection across the College made the morning a wonderful celebration of the encouragement, guidance and love they bring to our families.
Our Early Learning Centre also joined in the Father’s Day fun, welcoming dads and father figures for a happy morning with our little learners. Children loved giving Dad a playful foam ‘shave’, painting self-portraits, decorating biscuits, making playdough creations, playing soccer and exploring the playground together. There were smiles everywhere as the children proudly shared their Early Learning world with their special guests.
Students from across the College also recorded a special video message for our dads and father figures, sharing what they love about them, the moments they treasure and the many ways their dads help them grow. Their heartfelt words are a beautiful reminder of the lasting influence of a loving and encouraging father figure.
Thank you to every dad, father figure, family and staff member who helped make the event such a success. We hope you enjoy this special message from our students. The celebration was a beautiful reflection of our connected King’s community and what it means to Love Faithfully.
