What a term we have had in Year 11 SDP!
Throughout the term, students participated in bushwalking, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding, before finishing with a full-day outdoor recreation expedition. Students canoed 6km along Currumbin Creek before completing a 6km hike on the Border Track between Queensland and New South Wales.
The expedition challenged students requiring resilience and persistence as they navigated rain, capsized canoes and wet walking gear. Despite these challenges, students were rewarded with stunning scenery, meaningful connections and a strong sense of achievement at the end of the day.
To round out the term of coaching at Coolangatta Primary School and Merrimac State School, our students took on pivotal roles in supporting District Cross Country Carnivals, Under 8’s Day and Primary Athletics Carnivals. They received positive feedback from staff, parents and students for their professionalism, enthusiasm and ability to build positive relationships with younger students. Their energy and commitment contributed greatly to the success of each event.
Students should be extremely proud of their efforts and we look forward to welcoming them back for another exciting and rewarding term.
