After 12 months in her Tourism traineeship at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Zelri has grown in confidence and independence, particularly when engaging with a diverse range of people and navigating new situations on her own. Throughout her traineeship, she has developed valuable adaptability and problem-solving skills while helping to create positive and memorable experiences for visitors.
Some of Zelri's highlights have included interacting with guests and working alongside the Sanctuary's incredible animals. As she approaches the completion of her traineeship, she reflects that the experience has opened her eyes to career opportunities she had never previously considered.
Her advice to other students considering a traineeship is simple:
"Definitely do it! The skills, knowledge and experiences are truly amazing."
