King's Pimpama
High School
King's High School provides a supportive environment where students grow in Christian character while pursuing academic excellence. Our comprehensive program offers diverse opportunities for development through rigorous academic pathways, practical vocational studies, dynamic performing arts, and competitive sporting programs.
Leadership development forms the foundation of our approach, with meaningful opportunities woven throughout every facet of campus life. Students actively participate in student-driven projects and initiatives across our College community, developing into confident, values-based young leaders ready to influence their world positively.
Our engaging co-curricular offerings feature year level camps that strengthen friendships and build character, complemented by transformational mission trips that expand worldviews and strengthen faith. At King's, each student is empowered to discover their unique potential within a community where Christian principles shape learning, relationships, and personal development.
Through this holistic approach, we prepare graduates who demonstrate both academic capability and strong moral character, equipped to serve and lead with purpose beyond their school years.
“At the heart of our school is the conviction that every student is created with unique gifts and a God‑given purpose. We intentionally cultivate a culture of belonging, empowering students to learn passionately and believe deeply. By upholding high standards of teaching and providing purposeful learning experiences, we help each student to be curious about the world around them, persevere through challenges, and strive for excellence. In partnership with families, we share the privilege of nurturing each student’s journey as they discover who they are becoming in Christ.”

Our High School Curriculum
Inspiring Excellence Through Faith and Learning
King’s Christian College delivers a high school curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum, under the oversight of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA), and informed by the guidance of Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ). This framework ensures that our program maintains national academic standards while supporting students' personal growth and character development.
The curriculum provides a structured combination of core subjects and electives that develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical skills. From Years 7 to 12, learning is designed to progressively cultivate independence, responsibility, and resilience, preparing students for success in senior studies, tertiary education, vocational pathways, and active, meaningful participation in the wider community.
In Years 7 and 8, students study a complete program of subjects that establishes a solid foundation and introduces a wide range of learning areas. This prepares them to make informed and confident elective choices in Years 9 and 10.

Years 11 and 12 is the phase that the cognitive, physical, emotional and social skills acquired thus far are brought to maturity. This process enables students to become successful and productive Christian leaders/participants in the community through:
- engaging students in a rigorous academic program. While English and Mathematics remain compulsory core subjects, students select four other subjects to construct a six-subject program, allowing them to tailor their academic experience to achieve their goals.
- providing opportunities to enter university courses for a semester in Years 11 and 12.
- providing opportunities for students to study courses other than those offered at school. These would include traineeships and certificate courses in Years 11 and 12.
Curriculum
King's senior school students follow the internationally recognised Queensland Certificate Education (QCE) system under the direction of the Queensland Curriculum & Assessment Authority (QCAA).
King's is also advised by Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ).
Academic Environment
In Years 11 and 12, students will work with increasing independence and responsibility. Initiative, resilience and decision-making will become essential skills during this phase. Bringing these attributes to maturity and combining them with spiritual growth will prepare students for the future, whether that is in tertiary studies or in the workforce.

The subjects listed below are available to King’s students in Years 11 and 12. All students undertake studies in English, Mathematics, and Christian Studies.

Purposefully Designed Individualised Pathways
Our experienced careers team works closely with students and families to design pathways that champion individual strengths, interests, and aspirations. Whether the goal is medicine, a trade, creative industries, or entrepreneurship, we provide the guidance and opportunities needed to achieve the vision.
A confident future starts with informed choices and tailored pathways for each student, whether through traditional ATAR, Vocational Education and Training (VET), a combination of both, or a focused Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) pathway. The ATAR is a numerical ranking out of 99.95 used by universities to determine entry eligibility, and many vocational qualifications are now recognised as ATAR equivalents, meaning they can meet the same entry requirements.

ATAR Pathway
For students pursuing university entrance through academic achievement, our comprehensive ATAR program offers five or six General subjects designed to maximise your child's potential. This pathway provides the rigorous academic foundation needed for competitive university courses whilst maintaining flexibility to include Applied subjects to align with interests.
Combined ATAR & VET Pathway
This innovative approach combines four or five General subjects with Certificate or Diploma qualifications, allowing students to pursue university entrance whilst gaining practical industry skills. Students graduate with both an ATAR and nationally recognised qualifications, providing multiple entry points to their chosen career and a competitive edge in both university and employment.
VET Pathway
Designed for students seeking direct workforce entry or specialised vocational training, this pathway combines five subjects with Certificate or Diploma qualifications. Many universities now accept these vocational achievements as ATAR equivalents, ensuring students maintain access to higher education whilst developing industry-ready skills.
Trade
Designed for students with a clear goal of entering a trade after school, this pathway combines four applied subjects with industry-recognised qualifications, including Certificates II in Applied Digital Technologies and Workplace Skills, plus a Trade Certificate. Students graduate with real credentials that open doors directly into apprenticeships and trade careers, providing a solid head start in their chosen field.
Sport Excellence
Suited to students passionate about building a career in the sports industry, this pathway combines four general or applied subjects with Certificates III in Sport Coaching and Fitness and a Diploma of Sport. These qualifications carry genuine weight in the industry, whilst students gain practical, on-campus experience by assisting with carnivals and coaching primary school sporting teams. Whether the goal is coaching, fitness, sport management, or a related field, this pathway pairs academic study with hands-on vocational training to prepare students for a career in sport.
QCE Pathway
Tailored for students working towards their Queensland Certificate of Education, this pathway provides a program of mostly applied subjects designed to develop real-world knowledge and practical skills. Students have the option to complement their studies with a Certificate II qualification, offering valuable vocational experience and a solid foundation for workforce entry or further training opportunities.
ATAR Pathway
Students are supported to reach their academic potential, developing the independent learning habits and determination needed to achieve their university and career goals.
ATAR AchievementVocational Education & Training Pathway
Industry-recognised qualifications are woven into the timetable, ensuring students graduate with practical expertise and credentials that unlock diverse career and study opportunities.
