Trade Pathways
King's Trade Training Centre (KTTC) provides educational pathways for Years 10-12 students to complete their senior years while gaining recognised trade qualifications and practical industry experience alongside their Queensland Certificate of Education.
KTTC provides a supportive framework for students to successfully graduate with employable skills, confidence and a head start in their chosen career. Students can enrol at KTTC in Year 10 or 11, while apprenticed students may commence in Year 12.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Work experience is a compulsory part of our senior school program. In Year 10, students explore careers they are interested in by stepping into real-world workplaces, gaining firsthand insight into potential career paths. In Year 11, students take this a step further by sourcing an employer who may offer them an apprenticeship or traineeship opportunity.
Yes. At KTTC we believe it is important for students to develop the confidence and skills needed to approach potential employers and navigate the process of finding employment. Students are provided with a suggested script and practical guidance on how to identify and contact suitable employers. As work experience locations will vary, transport arrangements need to be organised between students and their families.
Yes. Before commencing any placement, a Work Experience Agreement form must be completed and signed by the student, parent, employer, and school. Once this agreement is in place, students are covered 24/7 by the Queensland Government for WorkCover injuries and accidents throughout the duration of their placement.
For students considering a trade pathway, obtaining a driver's licence is highly recommended. We encourage students to gain their Learner licence (L plates) as soon as they turn 16 and progress to their Provisional licence (P plates) at 17. A common first question from trade employers is "when do you get your licence?", making this a practical step that can significantly strengthen a student's employment prospects.
