You're Invited to The Trilogy Projects

Reedy Creek

King's Performing Arts Department proudly presents three inaugural performance plays devised by students and exploring some contemporary multi-generational issues facing our community. The premiere of these exciting performances will be held over two shows only on Thursday, 13 and Friday, 14 July from 6.30pm in the Auditorium. We invite King's family and friends to this unmissable innovative experience of never-seen-before theatre!

Featuring These Three One-Act Plays:

  • 'Ride Ricardo Ride' - Our Junior (Years 7 & 8) show was developed from the picture book of the same name by Phil Cummings. Sypnosis: During World War 2, a young Italian boy learns resilience and how to honour the lessons his father has taught him in a sensitive and moving exploration of parent-child relationships.
  • 'Then Now Next' - Our Intermediate (Years 9 & 10) show is a verbatim piece using stories from our community. Students have interviewed, questioned, improvised, interrogated and experimented around the intergenerational connections between Gen X and Gen Z. What could they possibly have in common?
  • 'Legacy' - Our Senior (Years 11 & 12) show is a Visual Theatre piece exploring the Theseus and Ariadne story from Ancient Greece and what it might reveal to our current culture and society. Can a person be a hero and a monster? Does the end justify the means? And what about the collateral damage?

Food and beverage trucks will be on-site to provide snacks and basic meals between the plays, plus other fun activities involving audience awards for choosing their favourite moments and performers. Plenty for all the family to enjoy! Tickets cost $10 - $15 and can be purchased via the link below:
