King’s Christian College Pimpama has achieved outstanding success at the 2026 Wakakirri Festival, with its Story-Dance, Tomorrow Begins With Us, receiving five performance awards and the State Award for Wakakirri Live - Secondary Schools Division.
Wakakirri is Australia’s largest performing arts event for schools, with 191 schools participating in 2026. Inspired by the ethos ‘Great stories inspire change’, participating schools create and perform Story-Dances that reflect students’ thoughts, ideas and aspirations for the future.

Wakakirri Ambassador Emma W described the performance as ‘a lovely message told with creativity and fun’. The Story-Dance explored humanity, connection, joy and the values that shape a better future, encouraging audiences to reflect on how tomorrow begins with the choices we make today.
We are incredibly proud of our Dance Sport team and the dedication, creativity and teamwork demonstrated throughout the process. This achievement reflects many hours of rehearsal and the commitment of every student involved in bringing this powerful story to life.
A special and very well-deserved acknowledgement goes to Miss Barnes and Mrs Colloty, whose tremendous effort, vision and encouragement helped make this achievement possible. The results speak for themselves, and we are deeply grateful for the way they supported and inspired our students.
