A Day at King's Video
30 November 2022
A day at King's is very full and extends well beyond normal school hours. King's students and King's staff - many of whom are behind the scenes and unheralded - work hard every day so that wonderful things can happen. This short film is a celebration of King's staff and students.
Primary
Primary Captains and Leaders for 2023
23 November 2022
King's Primary Leadership Program involves a rigorous selection process each year which begins with aspiring student leaders researching the qualities of strong leaders, and then preparing a written application. Applications are reviewed by our Campus Principal, Primary Coordinators and teachers, and shortlisted applicants are invited to present a leadership speech to their cohort. One female and one male student is then appointed to each of the primary leadership roles. Our 2023 Primary Leaders held their confirmation chapel towards the end of the term. Congratulations to the following students:
Congratulations to our 2023 Year 6 Captains and Prefects:

Year 6 Graduating in Style
23 November 2022
King's Pimpama Year 6 students swapped their Primary School uniforms for evening attire on Wednesday, as they came together in the Auditorium for their graduation celebrations, themed as a 1950's diner. This event marked an important milestone for the cohort, as they prepared to finish Primary School and begin their journey as High School students. It was a hot summer's evening as our guests arrived, glowing with excitement for the night ahead. Countless photos were taken with family and friends before the formalities began. King's Pimpama Campus Principal, Mr Verreynne, and Head of Primary, Mrs Malcolm, welcomed our guests and presented each student with a personalised Bible and their graduation certificate. As parents departed, students enjoyed a two-course dinner, a highlights video, a fun trivia quiz, baby photos and lively dancing. The night was filled with mixed emotions - the joy of reminiscing over many happy memories from their years in primary and the excitement of starting High School, with the sadness of leaving their primary school life behind. Our students have grown so much throughout their learning journey at King's so far. We are so proud of the young men and women they have become and are excited to see all that God has ahead for them.
Thank you to our staff and parents for helping create such an incredible event for our Year 6 cohort. Thank you students for all that you have brought to our Primary School community over the years. We pray that you continue to thrive as High School students at King's.
On Wednesday, 23 November, our Primary students, staff and special guests filled King's Auditorium for our Term 4 Primary Honours Assembly. This special occasion presented students with their Honours awards for an array of achievements in extra-curricular endeavours including chess, choir, futsal, music and our Creative by Design Art Competition. It was heartwarming to have so many awardee parents able to attend the event. We congratulate all of our Honours Award recipients on your special achievements!
Energy Expo Presented by Year 6
23 November 2022
In the culminating event for Term 4 the Year 6 students answered the driving question:
"Are we working towards a sustainable "Energy" future?" by presenting an energy expo. The expo was filled with dioramas of cities with circuits the students soldered. There was a mini theatre set up to watch Minecraft walkthroughs of energy sources. We held TED talks and also Virtual Reality where we looked at how our actions are either feeding or fighting climate change.
Well done, Year 6!
Secondary
Year 10s Learn Important Road Safety Education
23 November 2022
Year 10 students were given the opportunity to attend the award-winning RYDA Road Safety Education workshop on Tuesday 22 November. The RYDA workshop is designed for 16-17 year old’s as they begin to drive or ride in cars driven by their peers; providing them with the tools, habits and motivation to take action and stay safe on our roads. In small groups, students worked with facilitators to develop and practise personalised strategies and life skills which will help them to make positive choices, both as drivers and highly influential passengers.
""Senior students attended a road safety course about being a passenger and safe driver. It was interesting hearing from a survivor of a motorbike accident, leaving him paraplegic. The slogan they left us with was ‘my life, my choices’, giving us advice when travelling as a learner and provisional driver.”"
- AYLA GARATY
"“The Year 10’s attended the RYDA driver safety course and it was very informative. It explained and taught a variety of different safety techniques when on and off the road. We were also shown through different functions that a car has and what a safe car looks like. Some safety advice that I learnt from the day is that a car moving at 60kmh moves 17m in 1 second which is quite a lot. So to protect yourself you stay 2 seconds of distance away from the car in front. The course also taught us about being safe around other road users.” "

22 November 2022
+12
Congratulations to Finney for winning the Principal's Cup in 2022. The Finney students across Prep to Year 10 had fun both on and off campus. The Prep to Year 2 students enjoyed jumping castles and laser skirmish games on the back oval, Year 3 - 6 had fun at iPLAY at Coomera Westfields Shopping Centre while the High School students had fun at Movieworld. Thank you Mr Verreynne for our fun events in the last week of school for 2022!
Go Finney!
Thank you Class Coordinators 2022
17 November 2022
Our Primary Class Coordinator Program has been running for a number of years to help build stronger family connections in the classroom. Once again this year, every primary class had a Class Coordinator parent who generously gave of their time and talents to support our school. We sincerely appreciate these incredible volunteers who have played an integral part in helping to foster the caring community we strive for at King's.
2022 Class Coordinators' Celebration Event
As the school year drew to a close, we hosted a special event to thank our amazing group of parents who served our community in 2022 as Class Coordinators. A beautiful tabletop picnic was the theme for this year's thank you to the Class Coordinators, who also received a gift for their service. The marquee was decorated in pretty pink by Mt Tamborine Picnics and a delicious grazing platter was lovingly put together by Foxy's cafe, which is owned by a Pimpama parent. On behalf of our College and all primary parents, we thank you for your valuable contribution to our community this year!
Expressions of Interest for 2023
We are seeking expressions of interest from any King's Primary parent who would like to become a 2023 Class Coordinator. Once classes are finalised in January 2023, we will be able to confirm these roles and will publish the Class Coordinator lists on the relevant private King's Facebook groups. If you are interested, please complete the form below ( a copy of the Class Coordinators 2023 Handbook is included in the survey form):
Nurse Sue Robertson has a love for up-cycling old vintage or unusual chairs into works of art. One of her latest projects can be viewed in the Junior Library. The affectionately loved chair has been called the Narnia Chair due to the exquisite fabrics that Sue found after many years.
“I’ve always wanted to create a Narnia-themed chair and finding the fabrics has taken me years. When I started recycling the chair, I knew in an instant I had to turn it into a “King’s Kid Chair”, and so I decided to gift it to the Primary school after I had it professionally upholstered,” said Nurse Sue.
Unlike the Silver Chair in the fourth Chronicle of Narnia, we believe this Narnia Chair will whisk those who love reading into a new world of imagination and develop curiosity while forging a love of learning.
The fabrics used in the upholstery are kid-friendly, and Nurse Sue hopes the chair will bring much-love pleasure to all our students, and teachers, both now and in the future, who instil the love of reading into your King’s Kid!
Thank you Nurse Sue for your generosity and gifting, both in and out of the clinic.

It was exciting to end the school year on a high with many award nights and celebrations, Year 6 Graduation, our Noah's Ark Wriggly Nativity, our exceptional NAPLAN results and many more success stories from across our school. We wish every King's family a happy, healthy and refreshing Christmas holiday break as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
